i'll be there sometime tonight, just don't know around what time
Edit: i got there pretty late so he wasn't there, but i wouldn't see why we just couldn't do the qualifying anyways and if someone thats not involved wanted to play, why not just let them play a set? and then we continue

When would you northern people like me to hold the round 1 qualifier @ Evergreen? Your options are for 9-11-10 or 9-25-10. Take your pick.

Edit: I just read on the DDR website that the round 1 tournaments can go until Oct 15th. I originally thought they had to be by the end of September. Since this is the case, I think I will try to have the tournament Oct 9th, in the afternoon (say 2pm).
Does this work for everyone...or does anyone even care?

PERFECT lol, cause both days u gave me were both days that the everett events center had something going on and since the 11th was a non silver tip game, i went with that cause for silvertip games i have to be there like 4-5 hours before it starts :/ so this is like golden news to me heh, and i'll be at the ally tomorow around noon for bowling so if i run into darrel i'll drop the word to him about both the tourny and your machine and see what he says

Hey suko. I talked to him today and he seemed like he'd be up for putting your machine in there. But he would like to talk to you about it. His name is darrel and he's always here in the mornings

Is he available on the weekend too? I'll be busy this weekend, but perhaps I can try to talk with him sometime in the next few weeks about the possibility of doing this.
I haven't been to Evergreen as much as I used to (I've only been going Fridays the last few weeks), but have you seen a lot of people playing there lately? I just wanted to make sure that if I put the thing there, that people would play it enough to make it worth Darrel and my time to put the machine in there.

Here's the information for the DDR US Championships Round 1 Qualifier at Evergreen Lanes:
Location:
Evergreen Bowling Lanes
5111 Claremont Way, Everett, WA 98203-3319
Tournament Administrator:
Scott Philipp
Tournament Date & Time:
October 9th at 1:30pm
Entry Fee:
There is no entry fee. This will be a pay-as-you-go tournament. Meaning you pay for each set you play against your opponent.
Prizes:
There will be no official prizes to the winners of this tournament. As I understand it, the top three winners of this qualifier tournament will be eligible to continue on and participate at the Round 2 of the DDR US Championship.
That being said, I might bring some simple tokens of appreciation to the winners.
Miscellaneous:
In accordance with Konami's rules, there will be three age divisions: youth, age 8-12, teen age 13-18 and adult age 18-38.
If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian print out and sign the Parental Consent Form from Konami's website and bring it to the tournament in order to participate.
Download:
Parental Consent Form
The details for how the tournament will operate are rather sketchy at the moment. When I get a better idea of how it will work, I will post it here. Rest assured, it will be as fair and reasonable as I can make it. Until then, this information summarized on Bemanistyle.com is the best I can offer:
Quote
Round One
An estimated 30 or more Round One tournaments will take place in various locations around the nation. These locations are registered through the official website by tournament administrators that have taken the initiative organize and run the tournament for their area. So far an estimated 190 individual competitors have registered. These individuals will begin receiving notifications via email detailing one of these 30~ locations nearest to them where they will compete for Round Two.
Tournament administrators will receive admin packets with information outlining the competition and what is expected from their tournament. Much of this event will be up to the desecration of the tournament administrator. There will be three age divisions: youth, age 8-12, teen age 13-18 and adult age 18-38. The only game requirement is that it must be from the official DDR series; this includes anything from an arcade version like Solo mix to a console version like Konamix. Once a game is selected, three songs will be chosen with difficulties for each division by the tournament administrator. A fourth song will be chosen to determine ties. Competitors will choose one of these three songs and compete in random order. The admin packet states that the song scores are to be recorded and this is what determines the winners.
Edit 10-1-10: Here're the rules for the event:

Somehow I imagine most people showing up for the tourny will be in that uppermost age bracket.
Also, hope things work out between the owner and Suko possibly getting your machine set up there. I'm sure it would get a fair amount of players. I just wonder if there would be space for it, or whether a different machine would need to be taken out.

There are actually two machines that he's going to be taking out and he said he wasn't sure if other games were going to replace them to fill the gaps. That's why I think there's a good shot of getting it in there especially with leagues starting up this week

It's obvious that some of you regular Evergreen players would love an ITG2 machine there, but I would need to do my homework and talk with Darrel before we (the ITG2 owners) make up our minds.
I have some questions for the players that could help me make some decisions...I'd like to know is how much you spend each time you visit Evergreen on DDR. Is it $5 a visit, $3, $10? Also, what would you say is the average amount of money you spend on DDR at Evergreen on the average week? I'll be honest, ITG2 will probably cost a little more than the DDR Extreme game. Would this affect your spending habits? Specifically, would you still spend the amount I mentioned above each visit, or do you think this would cause you to spend more to play the same amount of games on the ITG2 machine?
For instance:
I spend $5 each time I go to play DDR. I presently go 1/week, though I used to go an average of 2.5/week earlier in the year.

Every time I go to play. I spend between five and ten a day. And I try to go play whenever I can. Even if you have it set to 4 tokens in there. I would still play as much even if it made me spend more. So that part wouldn't bother me at all. And also like I said. There will be more people playing since leagues started up this week too.

Suko, That would be great if you put your machine there. I would be going there quite a bit. Saves me the long trip to acme. I live so much closer to Evergreen lanes.

On the ddrExtreme there, I go through $5 per visit typically.
If the cost of the ITG dedicab were higher, I'd likely still play the same number of sets per visit.
