Summary: Using eAmusement features for the Bemani games at Round1
Starting Off
First off, you'll need an eAmusement Pass. These are $6 at the front counter, same place where you can reload your game card. There are two varieties, one is a plain eAmusement Pass, and the other is an Amusement IC card (with a stylized M on it). The latter will work with games that support Aime and BanaPass as well. (Note: While Nesica games claim to support it, I haven't had much luck on that front).
Once you have the pass, you'll need to register it on any arcade machine. It is recommended to do this on DanceRush, DDR, or IIDX, as those machines have English options. You do not need to insert a credit to the machine prior to doing this.
1. Wave your pass at the e sign on the machine (for DanceRush and the DDR gold cab, the eAmusement readers will light up when they will accept cards). 2. Enter the PIN you wish to use. You will need to enter it a second time for confirmation. Certain combinations can't be used (such as all four of the same number). 3. Enter the name you wish to use on the game. The length limitations are as follows: IIDX: 6 characters DDR and SDVX: 8 characters DanceRush: ?? characters 4. For DDR and IIDX only, the next step will be to set your region. DDR's list will depend on which cabinet you're using, the white cabs will show a list of states, while the gold cab (being the Japanese version of the game) will show Japanese prefectures. IIDX's list is entirely in Japanese (regardless of language selection), the アメリカ entry corresponds to America. Unlike DDR, the IIDX region entry list will be Japanese prefectures, even on the Lightning Model US version cabinets.
After this is done, your pass will be ready to use. Registration on other machines follows the same steps, though step 2 will involve just entering the PIN once, since it is already set.
Registering a Konami ID
It is recommended to attach your eAmusement Pass to a Konami ID. This will allow you to interact with your data on the game websites, and also enable you to transfer your data to a new pass if you lose your existing one. The registration page is at https://account.konami.net/auth/signup_input.html
As for country list, if you actually intend to contend for KAC in DDR and/or IIDX (unverified if this will be possible in the future with U versions), you will need to set your country as US. If you don't really care either way, it is recommended to use Japan as the country. Note that when entering the answer for the security question for registering a Japanese Konami ID, it must be in full width characters (which for the standard alphabet, will result in characters that are twice as long as you normally see them).
Once your ID is created, the next step is to attach your eAmusement pass to it. https://p.eagate.573.jp/gate/eapass/attach.html Basic eAmusement passes have 16 alphanumeric digits, while Amusement IC cards have 20 numbers. Both are arranged in groups of 4. If using a Japanese Konami ID, there is an additional question about allowing Paseli use on arcade machines. All Round1 machines have Paseli disabled, so unless you plan on actually visiting Japan, the answer to this question does not matter (and it can be changed later).
