Ah, I've tried this, and I think I fell in love with the app when I played it.
Although, I don't very much like that it automatically c-mods everything, so BPM gimmicks aren't really that much effective, but I was fine with it, and I wasn't sure why I deleted it.
Or maybe I'm confusing it with another app.

I think that was Beats portable - the constant C-mod takes all the fun away for me.. In BeatManiac the BPM changes do what they suposed to do ..

Is there a feature for changing noteskins to something other than what's provided?

Oh, I remember why I decided not to use this app - I commented that it wouldn't be a good LITE app if you couldn't test out the custom-songs capabilities.
I'd think maybe less modifier features and the allowance of custom-songs would be good to test.
Never mind, the features are all satisfactory

You can play your own SM/DWI files for FREE- there are ads and a small delay before custom song launch. No other restrictions in functionality - so you can also use it for free
Note skins - not yet..

I notice that BPM changes need a bit of work. Stops or changes in BPM tend to glitch the graphics (although you can still step on time). Also, it may be nice if you could add the option of having X-mods. Everything seems to be going at a constant speed.

Can you tell me an example song?
If this is in the Vocaloid packs it should be like this by the design of the sm file. (negative BPM gimmicks)
X-mod = C-mod? I already started on C-mod so i don't know if this the same...

Oh I'm sorry about the X-mod/C-mod, I may be remembering about another StepMania app.
As for the stop gimmicks, (the BPM changes seem fine), they usually cause the notes to jerk upward because the game probably thinks it needs to keep scrolling, although the timing is still correct and the graphics just reset and sync back to normal.

Could you give me the song + difficulty where this is happening?
+your phone model so i can check the specs..
the timing should be always right, i made it independent of the rendering so even when the GPU lags you can still hit everything on time

Here is a link to article with mods
Is there anything you would like to suggest?

Hey BeatManiac,
I tried it out today and it's pretty good!
My feedback:
- I'm not a fan at all of the spiral background.
+ The delay sync check is great! My phone has had problems with other music games and timing.
- What is your window for timing of the ends of freeze arrows? It seems really strict.
- It's a bit weird how you have some settings (background / sounds / vibrate) on the main settings but once you go into advanced settings you can't turn vibrate off in the advanced settings. In advance it's only "Vibrate: "on" or "auto". I kept trying to cycle through to an "off" to realize there was no off for vibrations (until spotting it elsewhere).
- I will never want to use Google Games integration on the app. Launching the game makes me click through several boxes to say no to Google Games integration. Can you build in an option to skip asking for Google Play Games integration, or make it a menu option instead of forced upon users?

Hello BLueSS,
The background can be changed as a mod.. You can read how in the link from my previous post..
Timings for freezes is 0.25seconds after you release the key.. Same as in stepmania..
The main on/off switch for vibrations is in the setting screen. The setting in advanced just let's you set if the vibration should occur on your key press or always right after the arrow passes the baseline. Maybe I could also add an option to turn it of to make it less confusing.
The Google play games is in the default setting meaning after you press cancel 3 times it won't bother you again (well maybe it's 5)
I hope this clears anything for you... If not, feel free to ask...

And I forgot.. Why don't you want to use the Google play leader boards? If you don't want the people to see that you are plying it could be set during the first pairing..
Also I think it's a lot fun getting the achievements done and completing with your friends..

Being forced to give your info to a data mining, evil company should never be required simply to play a mobile phone game.

EDIT:
Well they have all they need if you use Gmail or Google+
Because the Leadearboard API is provided by Google i have no possibility to get anything but your user name and maybe some unique identifier (which i don't use anyway - what for?).
From my side i'm just sending data of what score you had, which achievements you unlocked.. that's about it.
I can see some graphs in the developer console but there is absolutely no personal data there..

Yep, and I don't use those either.
(I have to have a Gmail to buy from the app store, but that's it.)
But even on iOS, sometimes I don't want to use their game center either, I just want to play a game. I honestly don't care at all about leaderboards for a rhythm game I'll be playing on my phone.
Why don't you want to make the Google Games prompt optional instead of having it be required at every launch?

Well, its kind of psychology question - more people will join the leaderboards this way.. i had it with the promt before, but there were not much people joining...
It is also a recommendation from Google Play Services team and a default behavior of the API/Library.
Just press cancel 3-5 times.. and the login will go away

I have played other Google Play integrated games, and I don't remember them prompting me first thing every time I opened the app... I guess I could be wrong.
You're the one who asked for feedback, so there you go. Trying to let you know there's people who don't like Play integration out there...
