We seem to periodically get a lot of posts regarding the sale or auction of various music game machines. I thought instead of continuing to spam up the general music discussion forum, I'll just post any Bemani auctions I find in here.

BLueSS Edit: Frequently visit https://www.cyberauctions.com/index.php for local auctions in the PNW area.

Oh man, I hope the "Idaho arcade" isn't the Bumpers in Moscow, ID. I know it's not Spokane, but Spokane is Bumper's HQ, so they could just be selling off the stuff from there. T_T

I'm gonna do some info digging and find out.

Red carpet, blue walls, Vegas-based seller with three dedicabs - I'm pretty sure the mint dedicab is from Gemini

Given the description, I'd say that machine is a leftover from Nationals.  Anyway, Vegas is Vegas - many of their arcades are inside Casinos so you have a place to stash your kids while you gamble.  They don't take the greatest care of their stuff, but the cost of those machines is a mere drop in their budget and they more than recoup the costs by treating the arcade as an unstaffed daycare.  As I understand it, Gemini is a standalone arcade that actually takes care of their stuff, but just look at the Vegas listings on DDRFreak: http://www.ddrfreak.com/locations/locations.php?action=displayState&stateID=30

sniff... Unfortunately, these came from the bumpers arcade at the Palouse Mall in Moscow, ID. I'm currently visiting the area for the weekend and I went there to play some DDR, only to discover that the place is empty and closed. =,(

This is the place where I transitioned from a noob player into a "DDR freak". I'm super sad to see it go. R.I.P. bumpers.

Wow, this is scary. That new/upgraded ITG machine from Vegas doesn't have any takers and they're only asking $8k for it. The value of these things sure has dropped with the recession (and decline in popularity).

Wow a MINT dedicab? I should've played on that thing when I had a chance. Then again the other two cabs they have at Gemini are in perfect condition already anyway so it's not like it's that big of a difference.

Yeah, having played on 2 of the 3 Gemini machines (the third has more custom packs than the other two, hence it was the busiest), I can definitely say I couldn't tell which of those two was the machine from the auction  - dedicabs seem to be pretty solid, so a bit of routine maintenance keeps them feeling almost like new.

That machine's gotten way less play than most, so I can see it bringing in a little more than other public facing machines normally would, but $8,000 is a bit much for the opening bid when it would have been 10k new.  Slapping a larger hard drive in there is interesting thing to claim as an added value, since most consider aftermarket parts to contradict the claim that it's in mint condition, but they do include the original drive, so I wouldn't say that it loses value as a result, but some might.

Just about every machine at Tilt! in Springfield, OR has a price tag on them, including DDR Megamix at $3,995. I contacted Tilt asking if they could get DDR X2 (preferably) to replace their (bad) DDR Megamix. All they said was: "Possibly in the future."

Buy DDR Megamix, get DDR X2 in the arcade?

Hey guys!

I'm moving back to Seattle next August. I'm looking to live up a childhood dream and get a bunch of arcade machines with my signing bonus. Priorities, son.

Anyways, if any of you guys happen to see a DDR 6th-Extreme being sold in the Seattle area any time before then, could you let me know? I'd be willing to pay ahead of time if it means somehow reserving the machine (if you want one of you guys could keep it for free until I get to Seattle and get a place to live). Same with Dance Maniax and any affordable IIDX machine (though I'm sure that would be a rarity and wouldn't last long).

Thanks ahead of time! I miss you all  Kiss

As I feel seriously led on by this last machine (being told it was under $1k only for it to go back up on ebay and more than double in price) I'm pretty actively hunting for a DDR machine right now, so if anyone sees anything in this area please let me know. This will be a lot easier when I get my sign-on bonus at the end of the month, but I'm pretty reluctant to ask vendors directly now since I feel like I'm just going to get baited again.

You can't really control what something ends up selling for on eBay.  Just depends on how many people are interested in it.

If anyone is curious, Bill's machine ended up going for $2,075, but it was still at $900 three days before the end of the auction, when the bidders became somewhat insane.  It jumped about $700 in the last 60 seconds.

Yeah, that doesn't change the fact that he initially led me to believe (through PMs) that I could get it for $900. I am not a fan of being falsely baited.

Hello,

We do have an Extreme that was Ebay, has ended, and the bidder has yet to pay.  So there is a chance that one could come available.  I will PM you back in a week or two once we know for sure, if the machine will be available.  Nice Extreme, and under 1000.00!
Thanks
Bill

Hello,
As of now, the buyer is pleading to give him another week to come up with the 900.00 plus shipping to the East Coast.  he has one week, then it's to hell with this guy!

Thanks,
Bill

And then the next time I asked he was putting it back on eBay.

Not sure if I was deliberately misled or if this was just bad wording, but I am not really excited about the prospect of being led to believe something like this again only to lose it. No thanks.

He had multiple parties wanting to buy it, and he made no promise of sale to you. He put it back on Ebay, to sell it the same exact way as last time.

I can understand how you could feel that he was offering you a personal deal. But I don't think it sounds completely that way. In his defense, putting it up on eBay gives Bill the best chance to make the most off his machine. It didn't cost you anything, so misled or not, it didn't cost you anything personally, so I wouldn't be so upset about it.

Also, I strongly suggest that Bull mention any and all future bemani auctions on this site when he posts them to eBay. Obviously, he's gonna get more attention (i.e. more bidder) by doing that.
