Might as well start a thread for this....

Supposedly the poster says it'll be released in Summer 2007.  I like the logo.

I read at about 475 on ITG, and 350 on DDR. On IIDX, though, I play everything on HS4 up to 180BPM.

I still think I read faster on IIDX than anyone in the PNW.

I comfortably read 300-360 BPM on DDR but do 450-500 when necessary (x1.5 Maxes for score)

ITG, I read between 500 and 600 if I can.

For a full set of stats:

DDR (arcade): 300-445 comfortable, 520 max, 90 min
DDR (home, pads): 300-480 comfortable, 550 max, 80 min
ITG/SM (pad): 300-450 comfortable, 520 max, 90 min
SM (keyboard): 150-650 comfortable, 1050 max, 30 min
DDR/ITG (controller): 200-550 comfortable, 900 max, 60 min
IIDX: not sure exactly how fast all the HS's are, but the fastest I've ever tried was First Day on HS4 and I did pretty bad.

Oh wait....SN2 will probably have really lame Fascination or HDV remixes.

Fascination Survivor and HDV Survivor just don't sound appealing   =)

Heck, Chaos Unlimited would be pretty lame too, now with stops AND tempo changes!

Actually, speaking about LOL Boss songs, do you think SN2 will have more tempo change/excessive stops type boss songs or more stuff like the older Boss songs. I hope for hard charts, but I'm not looking forward to charts like HDVO and FELMO.

Oh, and after playing CHaos on foot, even though the chart is one big gimmick, it's actually really fun. Oni isn't all that bad if you know where the sops are, which I do now.

I don't know how they are going to go much faster than 400 bpm for the next Max...

I don't consider FAXX and FELM Max songs really, they're a whole new genre. SMMM was the new arcade Max, and it's obviously a LOT more like a Max than the other two.

If Konami made Max. with a scroll speed of 600, they probably won't be afraid of a 444 scroll speed or something like that.

And even if they are, what keeps them from making a 210-105 BPM Fascination song?

They'll make a new version of My Summer Love that runs at 250 bpm and is nothing but 32nd note jacks with jumps every 7th step.

It'd be cool if this remix had good steps, too =O

Cutie Chaser could easily be a fun 8-footer if they actually followed the 16ths. I would play it then.

Yeah, I never tend to gravitate towards 5's. :?

It might actually be a 6, my memory says, but it's an easy one if so.

Honestly, the hardest difficulty of a song shouldn't drop below 8.  DDR is too oriented around the 10 system, and some of their 10s aren't consistent at all indifficulty(Sakura / FAXX or PSMO)

I do in fact enjoy playing 10s, but this is probably one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard about DDR.

So you're saying the fact that I think it's silly to have over half the songs be only about a 7 at most is the dumbest ideas you've ever heard?

Fact is, almost anything below that difficulty is so boring to play that I simply don't want to play it; that means I consider half the songs on the machine to be a complete waste of space.

ITG on the other hand, has most everything as an 8 or 9 for expert (except those 2 horrible songs that don't even have an expert chart).

I'm not asking for DDR to be ZOMG hard or for every song to be a 10 footer, I'm saying that it'd be a lot better if there weren't a bunch of songs capping at 6 and 7 difficulty when most of them really could have more difficult steps (aka more enjoyable for some people that want to play that song, but don't want to play something that would be extremely boring).

Why was ITG so much more popular than DDR? difficulty levels RARELY dropped below 7, even on Hard. Honestyly, Konami can put they 7's and lower on standard charts, or make an oni chart if the heavy is going to be a 6 or 7. Colors (fro extreme) is a perfect example of how that works. it shouldn't take them too much more work either to add onis to everything. as long as they keep auto-gening like it seems like they do already.

I realize it's boring for you.  DDR isn't made for you and you only, it caters to a much wider arcade crowd, and as such, there's gotta be "most-difficult-setting" songs that are not super hard, or else it just seems like a waste to play.

One MAJOR pure opinion of your own in your post (and as such shouldn't be used as a legitimate argument for what should or shouldn't happen) is the fact that you think 6s and 7s are boring.  You do justify it with "some people," and therefore I'm not sure why you still insist on extending the idea that change will be better for the general population.  I for one enjoy 6s and 7s and think it'd be dumb to have everything have hard charts no matter what the song sounds like.  I would hate to step to emotion with 400 notes, for example.

I also think you fail to realize a couple key things
SN's charts are
a) harder than extreme's charts at any given numerical difficulty
b) overall have a higher average difficulty rating
and
Extreme's charts are
a) 4 years old

For those reasons, I don't see your complaints about the current game as anything other than whining.

You did not mention that there is more than 1 overall difficulty; if you don't like the expert steps, play the hard steps.  DDR simply doesn't do that.

And no, I have not played Supernova much at all.  I think I've played on a Supernova cab 3 times total and I do not own the PS2 version.

So, I guess we agree to disagree about this then?

EDIT: why is not a legit argument to use that opinion?  It doesn't hurt the lower difficulty players, and helps the "expert players."  Preference to play DDR at all is an opinion, so why can't I use an opinion. . .

It wasn't, except to the PA'ers who were sick of the old Extreme songs and could AAA a ton of songs anyways. It gave them a new challenge.
ITG has never been overall more popular than DDR and never will.

Yeah. I'll co sign that.

ITG only seems more popular if you're talking to the right people.  Otherwise, the vast majority of people prefer DDR.  I've definitely experienced this first hand by asking DDR players to come to play ITG once.

More hardcore people play ITG, thus they put more coins in; though I doubt it'll make up the monetary difference in the long run.
