Go look it up if you're under the impression that Konami can still make good dance games. I'm not going to link to that shit here, just wanted to let people know it's in, like, 4 test locations in Japan.

I'm just hoping we get one of these at Sakuracon. If eamuse is functional in the US, I could see this release getting popular. They seem to be IIDX-izing it a bit. I believe theres a special thing if you get a full combo. I think the difficulty scale increase is something that was much needed.
Hopefully we get some classic license revivals.

I'd like to see them ditch their new scoring system and return to an EX-style or traditional-style DP system again. SuperNOVA's scoring system was one of its few changes that didn't have any significant drawbacks, since all it did was change the values. I think it would have been better to expand it either to a 100-point scale like many of their other games or a 12-but-occasionally-13-point scale like IIDX and ITG. The 10-point scale actually worked really well until you got into the 8's and up. Below that, there were only a few misleading ratings, like D2R's heavy chart.
Two of my main complaints about this version are the logo (looks like a totally failed attempt at a Pump-style logo) and the cabinet (they managed to make it EVEN BIGGER). DDR isn't DDR any more. Different cabinet, different scoring system, none of the original trademark styles, none of the original difficulties, the I/O board works completely differently, and the charts are all uncomfortable to play.
DDR X does introduce a few nice features though. The feature that dims the background movies where the arrows come up is probably the best I've heard of. The Wide Screen and Konami's growing interest in the community have also been encouraging. I'll probably wind up buying this when it comes out, but, like SuperNOVA2, I doubt I'll actually play it.

Too expensive, a lot of those groups have broken up, and many of the artists have changed labels / those labels have been unwilling to license those songs to Konami. Probably anything from dancemania is game for them. If I cared about the game I'd be so hoping for X-Treme songs....

I only wish. I just came back from a business trip to Japan, and e-Amusement capabilities makes everything better. Even if it is just score/clear tracking, it gives players goals so they keep playing... think about how popular the achievement system is for Xbox Live, only apply it to the arcade
You could also set up your card to track calories burnt, but I'll be damned if I know my weight in kilograms

Yeah, I think that's right. 2.2 = 11/5. Reciprocal would be 5/11 (lol), which is pretty close to the 9:20 ratio it should be.
You must have more muscle on you than I was accounting for or heavy bones. You're not a stick like me and zeppy and bbh, but you're certainly not like Steven.
I guess you're also pretty tall though, aren't you?
