Theres a DMV3 kit on ebay right now...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Drum-mania-V3-PCB-KIT-no-bemani-ddr-arcade-jamma_W0QQitemZ200117050870QQihZ010QQcategoryZ13718QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

4k seems like a bit much, but it is a full hardware kit.  I don't know how much interest we have with DM around here, but it might be worth looking into.

$10 says something's going to go wrong... It's just plain instinct by now, after our last two attempts at getting more recent Bemani.

If this works out, I'll shave my head... Well, not really.  But chances are, it will be the end of my Bemani hiatus.

What a convenient time for this to happen! The DM8 machine at Acme has been having some hardware problems recently; I watched the tech try to fix the CD drive error. Even with 4 separate drives, he could not get it to work. This screams of a more essential hardware problem. Upgrading to new hardware would solve that permanently, Bill! Tongue

A DMV3 here would be pretty sweet, seriously. I'm sure it would drive up a lot of interest for DM in the northwest. Just...if you get it, please put it at Acme since you don't have a GFV3 to session it with.

We should keep making a new thread every time something we want goes on ebay

Ebay can be scary.  Just lok at that Distorted kit ripoff we fell for.  By the way, all our sources have confirmed there is no way in hell we will ever get the needed parts to make that kit run.

So you're not going to bid on this? :[

Well, the bid has passed.

I personally think there is no harm in bringing threads and bids like this to Bill's attention, James.  The main problem comes when people act like Bill is obliged to bid on it, I guess.

Don't forget there's a GF11/DM10 at Narrows that needs more loving/players, for when that DM8 bites it. <3

with the problem being that the tone of every single one of these threads is that of a sort of a wishful guilt tripping
it's an endless circle i suppose
i'm just under the impression that bill is probably on top of ebay and sees these as often as we do, and he'll bid on whatever he wants to bid on.

I do trip around Ebay a little bit, but do not see everything.  I appreciate a heads up on something interesting, like you guys have been doing.  That V kit is just a little pricey.  If it was relisted at lets say 1000.00 less, I bet we would snag it.  Keep an eye out for that.

Yeah, I just post about it, because stuff like this doesn't come up very often.  It would be less of a benefit for people not to post this kind of stuff.  I do agree that this auciton is a bit pricey, maybe it'll get relisted under a cheaper listing.  Heh.  I'm still content with the machines we have.

I still think this kind of stuff is perfectly fine to post.  Feel free to keep doing it, Gosha.

i'll keep that in mind >bill and james

though maybe just have one thread for it or something, i guess what bothers me is that there's a thread for every listing that is brought up (yes I know it's not flooding the forums or anything, before alpha"i will argue about everything"conquerer chimes in ;P

Actually I was thinking of suggesting just one topic to keep it all in as well; in fact I thought I'd typed it before...must have edited that one.  Anyhow, I have to agree with James/MiniMoos here.  If the topic creator (Gosha) wanted to just edit the first post we could just use this same thread for all the ebay and various auctions findings.

Oh  James. I only argue because I disagree; I can see no harm in that.  On this latest suggestion, however, I agree 100%.

There was a 3.7k Max2 machine a while ago (like, May).  At that price, one could easily buy some mem card slots and install them. (they're $1000)

We should seriously pool money together and buy this. Auction ends in about 7 days.

I disagree.  If we were to get $5k, we should put that towards a GF/DM V3 or V4 upgrade... We have plenty of didder machines already.

I agree with Tada.

A Stepmania cabinet would still be cool, though.

DancingTofu: The auction's gonna go to at least 3k as soon as it starts, it's not worth it.

tada: hmm, that's true. I don't play GFDM though, so I'm not super excited by the upgrades. I'm probably gonna start soon though.
