Maybe part of this is that music games are a hobby I've had more than a decade and that all things get stale eventually, but it's really kind of sad how much my interest in them has been moribund the last few months. Even before then, I was arguably tired of them and just waiting for a new hobby, which I have found in the form of pinball. I'm honestly not very excited about SPERGIN 2 and I doubt I will get in even one practice session for it before the actual tournament.

Just, how does everyone keep up their passion for rhythm games so much and is there a way to get back into them?

Whaaaat?!  I assumed you would have been around the same wall that I'm stuck at.  39s and 40s are my comfort zone.  go play a newer version and see how you like it.  maybe it will reignite your passion for popn.  also nyami and mimi miss you Sad

I've played as recently as Tune Street and it still felt pretty stale to me.

Hmmm well i guess i can understand that it is getting stale with zero innovation in the series.  sunny park will change a bit but i think the changes are not going to do much good.  they are dropping song banners and raising the difficulty ratings to a scale of 1 to 50.  I'm also pretty sure they will cut a lot of songs out.  popn was best around party and then good again with sengoku retsudan imo.

try jubeat and see how you like that.  its not an addicting game but it is a bit different and if you have proper sources you can build your own arcade cab and it looks pretty legit.
