I need dance game advice.

I have fairly average sized feet for a woman, but absolutely ridiculously tiny, dwarf-sized feet for a man: I am a women's shoe size 7.5, or a men's size 5.5.  Whenever I play charts that are written with the intent that you hit all four arrows at once (Stamp on the Ground by Suko is a really good example,) I try really hard, but feel like my foot just won't stretch over the bracket enough.  I am pretty sure that my foot is small enough that it just won't bend that way, but I can't really be sure.

However, about once every fifteen times I try to hit a "stomp," I'll randomly pull a Fantastic on it and be unable to tell what I did.  Did I accidentally "heel-toe" it or something?  Can one get fantastics that way with any degree of frequency?  :O

How should I do "stomps" with tiny girl feet?! Halp!

I can't do this at all. My feet are too small.

Charts like this are annoying and I don't play them.

First off, yes, my feet are huge. Probably bigger than any other player's in the area. However, I cannot bracket stomp. I know, sounds nutz, but it's true! The way I do quads is by double jumping. Laura, if you ever watch me play my Stamp On the Ground chart, you'll notice what I wrote above. I don't "stomp those" like most players can/will. I simply go "tap-tap, tap-tap, tap-tap" really fast with diagonal jumps. It works and it helps me keep my beat way better than trying to fudge it over the brackets.

This obviously won't work if there are quads that are placed closer together. The quads on my Stamp chart are probably about as close as I can do them with "my" method. Come by some time and I'll show ya how to do it Suko's skuky way. Or, alternatively, just get some very flexible, soft-soled shoes so they can bend over the brackets easier.

Maybe in the coming days we can meet up and you can give Tony your ITG 3 theme and me a lesson in stampin' on the ground! Cheesy

Just tilt your feet sideways so that the arch of your inner foot goes over the bracket.  This helps more of your foot to touch the actual arrows.  Then, just hit really hard.  I get them about 80% of the time, and more accuracy if I really put my mind to it.

(For reference, I wear a women's 5.5 or a little boy's 3.5)

Dream on, dream on, make my day,
We will find a better way
Dream on… And you'll realize
That one day you'll pay the price
Keep on going till tomorrow
You will find there is no sorrow
Keep on dreaming of this toy
You can use my little boy

I'm your Captain not your toy
I am not your little boy
I give orders that you follow
Come with me into tomorrow
I'm your Captain and your toy
You can use my little boy
Dream on, dream on, make my day,
We will find a better way
Dream on… And you'll realize
That one day you'll pay the price
Keep on going till tomorrow
You will find there is no sorrow
Keep on dreaming of this toy
You can use my little boy

Fighting for a better world is not
To dream about our unity
Realize reality, tell me Mr. D
Running on that one way street alone
Hoping for a better day to come
Looking for a better place to stay
Listen what I gotta say

I FECd Hearts of Ice without moving, hitting every note as a quad, and never "stomped" harder than a normal enunciated step. And of course 98.xx on Bring me to Life. Size 8 shoes, and I can hold 2 notes at once as well, not just hit it repeatedly.

And I shall teach you the trade secrets if you like Wink

But its basically what Sara said, curl your feet up and just learn to hit the bracket in just the right spot. No need to really tilt your feet just hit it just right. And yes I admit my being mistaken (a) year(s) ago when I said having small feet is a disadvantage, and it is indeed about the technique.

Anybody that wants to show me their technique can be my new best friend! <3  It's not that I think I CAN'T do it or anything, just that I can't do it the way I've been trying to do it and I need to be shown a better way.  I'm willing to try all of your techniques and see what works best for me!

Also, you FEC'd Hearts of Ice that way?  That's just IMPRESSIVE.

I found it's in the shoes for me.  I've got men's size 13 feet, but there's one pair of shoes I've used where the sole is too stiff, and rolling imperfect jumps is the only thing that works.
