I'm not even going to begin to look for another topic like this because I'm sure it doesn't exist!

I used to be 450 bpm when I started (well after I got started), then I was 600 or less, then 640 tops.  Now I can comfortably read 660 - 680.  This does come at a price, because I get so used to speed that slow parts can give me lots of excellents.  I remember at the DSR tournament, everyone was surprised I would read so fast (which was generally a speed mod slower than I normally would).  What else do people read at?

Used to be the same as you, am now comfortable from around 390-560 on DDR and 500-620 on ITG.

I passed Infection on 5x once, that was pretty cool.

About 300 on dance games, 400-450 on Pop 'n Music, and probably somewhere in between those numbers on Beatmania.

It's not that I can't read the dance games faster, but that I don't physically move fast enough to play comfortably at higher scroll speeds than that.  Probably because I've never really gotten into 'bar' usage, so I need more time to react without falling over.  Smiley

Would likely be OK at more like 500-600 if it were just my fingers and Stepmania.

Around 500 BPM for me. I usually use x3 modifier for songs up to 170 BPM.

380-450 normally.  I'll do 510 on R&P and 494 on LoM and MaxX Unlimited, but I don't like playing over 400 without the bar and I don't like using the bar unless I'm trying to AAA or play hard 10's.  I also rarely play songs under 100 bpm with speed mods; they don't feel right going fast; I usually freestyle them too because I know I won't SDG or AAA them.  I use speed mods on Bag because the rhythm is really weird.

I go up to 800 on the keyboard or controller, but only when I can jack the refresh rate up to 120fps; gets jumpy otherwise.

ITG:

I can comfortably read 640-850 BPM (using MINI of course Wink ).

PIU:

400 to roughly 700 (Moonlight on 4X speed seems too fast for me)

It seems that people read a lot faster on average than I thought.  Yeah, its definitely impossible for me to play well at 660-680 with no bar for sure.  I'm ok with about 550-600 though.

I can't get used to mini, though its probably just something you have to get used to like anything else.

It depends on the size of the font / the page it is printed on. Average I would guess about a minute per page. I *can* read much faster than that, but I find I lose a lot more of the insightful aspects of reading when I do.
