While catering to everyone is a great idea. It is extremely hard to accomplish.
Most of the time I would pick a specific route and then have some outliers here and there.

In terms of dubstep people seem to be all over the place. I would avoid skrillex if you can (his songs have more than enough representation, I've made a few myself)

here is my suggestions
http://oscillatorx.bandcamp.com/track/singularity-radio-edit

Tantrum Desire - Get With It

Because it was so good in PIU PRO2
Carlito - Poco Loco

This guys songs are pretty popular in ReRave. Have a look
http://www.youtube.com/user/RamesesB/videos

J Roc - Nickelodeon

NICK THAYER - LIKE BOOM FEAT. WIZARD SLEEVE, NFA & KABA JONES (NICK THAYER REMIX)

Also where is Chaos Energy from?

You are right, and having an "ITG feel" in many ways is one of the most important things for me, but I also want to branch out and not just pick songs from the same box every time. It is a challenge, and one that hopefully everyone will get involved in helping out with.

As far as Chaos Energy....

ZaG X - Chaos Energy

I think that it's technically Zag-X since the artist changed his name? Or something like that.

It's basically Energizer had a child with VerTex. It has that "boss song" feel, and I totally think packs like this should have boss songs. Having difficulty tiered like a pyramid where most songs are easier, a good amount of songs are intermediate to hard, and just a handful are damn painful tends to be the best setup for an "official" feeling pack. Having a pack full of easy charts or one full of hard charts is all fine and good, but all players of all skills should be able to enjoy themselves.

This song could EASILY be made into a 14, and probably easily made into a 15 on double. While we have to use super hard songs quite sparingly, I argue that we do need them

I don't think ZaG X and ZiGZaG are the same person....
Further more on that subject ZiGZaG is not some guy named Andy.

OK, weird, cool idea I just had.

As some of you may know, Tony and I recently took a roommate due to our weird situation where we're in Texas all summer and he takes business trips there once a month.  That roommate is Kid Whatever.  He lives in what used to be our office.

I wonder if we all chipped in a little bit of money if we could commission a "theme song" so to speak for ITG Phoenix.  I'd throw in a little bit of cash if others would do the same.  I really like paying him for his work because I know how hard it is for him to make ends meet as an artist, being his roommate and all.  Would anyone be up for this???

OK, weird, cool idea I just had.

By weird, do you mean AWESOME!?

No, but seriously. I would definitely be willing to chip in a large portion of the commission seeing as I'm the unofficial "director" (?) of this pack. A new Kid Whatever track literally written for the pack can't hurt PR in the slightest AND it'll really help bring this pack alive seeing as we're not just stepping old songs, we literally have a new song written FOR THE PROJECT!!!

Wootsauce.

Anyways, we should probably solidify the name of the pack then. If Kid Whatever is actually going to write a theme song so to speak, it may help out to be definite on what the actual name of the pack is going to be. Best case scenario the track references the title in some way or another, and if not, no harm done since we'll have at least solidified the name of the pack.

Wootsauce.

So, anybody got some suggestions for the name of the project? ITG Phoenix might work, sure, but that is only the working title. I know Suko suggested ITG Eternal as well, but some of you might have other great suggestions. ITG should be in the name since we are making a spiritual successor, but other than that, let's see your ideas!

Another name suggestion:
In the Groove: Infinity
In the Groove: Remix
In the Groove 4 <---seriously, why not? It's not like those ITG3 guys were the original creators or anything.
In the Groove: Revival

I'm just throwing crap out there. =D

Also, I REALLY think that Romeo's Dead by Sarina Paris and Stamp on the Ground by ItaloBrothers would be GREAT additions to this pack. Coincidentally, I have already written charts for those songs with full difficulties. Seriously, I do NOT want to turn this project into a "I wrote a chart, use it in ur packz" deal. I'm only mentioning this because I really do feel like those two songs would work in a pack like ITG Rebirth or ITG 3. You could even rewrite the steps if you think the songs are worthy but don't like the style of my charts. Either way, they're great songs that would go great (IMO).

I like the other suggestions better because in many ways ITG3 wasn't entirely fan made. Roughly half(ish) of the charts and most of the songs were picked by RoXoR. ITG3 was completed by fans (and frankly not 100% completed as there are like 4 or 5 songs without doubles which I've been tempted to write my own versions for a while, but that's besides the point). Though, this might be the title we need to make it sound more official, but I'm leaning towards an ITG ______ title

You could even rewrite the steps if you think the songs are worthy but don't like the style of my charts. Either way, they're great songs that would go great (IMO).

Your steps to Stamp on the Ground are just plain correct. That is the correct step chart. I have not played Romeo's Dead on foot, but the "stamping on the ground" is yes, and chained quads are not super common in more "official feeling" charts, so it'll definitely have a unique and awesome flavor to it

Holy balls that's a lot of suggestions!

Welcome to the forums Fooferdoof! I'm glad you found these forums and are obviously interested in this project of ours. Have you read the original post? This is a pretty new project and won't be done for a while but as I stated earlier we are DEFINITELY looking for new music and you DEFINITELY suggested quite a bit, which is awesome! I love your enthusiasm.

Just to warn you, we will be voting on the songs somewhat democratically and not all of them might make it, but I do like that you are veering away from the same old trance that we've been stomping to for the last 6+ years. I especially thought Diamonds and Guns was an interesting choice because while it is definitely not classic electronica or even classic dance, it really seems to work and you could really make seem evil runs out of Travis Barker's snare rolls.

Lastly, a lot of these songs have profanity. If we use them, we will be forced to use radio edits, aka clean versions. Worry not, a lot of these songs goes the funky grooves to them, yo. Again, welcome to the forums and I hope to see you in the arcade.

Edit:  Talked to Pete and he says he'd prefer not to get involved in dance games projects at this time.  I totally forgot that he recently had some issues involving dance games and content distribution.  So, it WAS an idea, but now it's not.  Oh well, I'm sure we can come up with something awesome anyway - we've got a great list of songs Cheesy

Holy shizznit Batman, 50 song!

We're roughly halfway to my goal, and then we have to do the, in my opinion, harder task of cutting it down, but it's always better to have to much than to scrounge for stuff and hope the songs are ok.

We're about halfway done with Phase 1 though, and I couldn't be happier. I'm also noticing a lot of returning ITG artists which is nice (I put up a few of them myself such as the DJ Meas songs because I freakin' love that dude.)

This might actually happen! See, there's still a little fire in this community's ol' bones  =)

I do, in fact, agree.  I have the Papaya (Lynn) album, as well as all of the Bambee albums (She wrote most of Bambee's songs) and the Crispy album, so I can help out with finding songs if you guys want.  Cheesy

Sweet beans, 60 songs and we got some more house, trance, break core, and returning ITGers (Like Digital Explosion).

You seem to be the expert on Lynn and Crispy, Laura, so I won't step on your toes by picking songs from them. I figure you're far more acquainted and thus will probably pick better songs.

So the deal with "Lynn" is that she is just Papaya, but everything she didn't make as an ITG exclusive was either something she released as Papaya or Bambee released and sang her own version of.  (Spaceman and Online were both originally Bambee songs.)  So I'm not sure if we should try to find a Papaya song or a Bambee song.

It also depends on what we want.  Bambee has a cool slow jam that might make an interesting more chilled-out chart, but I don't know if anyone wants that.

10 BAMBEE Caribean blue (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

Caribbean Blue - Bambee

I also think this song would be hilarious, but mainly because it's so delightfully retarded.  "Everybody move your feets."

If you like a song and think it would be good for the game, don't hesitate suggesting it. Caribbean Blue would make a great 9, especially due to the couple spots with 32nds. A lot of the songs we have so far are high energy, so we need a few slower chill songs to counter balance it.

As far as eurobeat goes, bring it on. Sure, we can't have too much of anything, but this isn't the editting/cutting phase, this is the suggestion phase. The tougher decisions about the song list will come later

Also, I know it's common for musical artists to have an artist name with a misspelled word, so it's probably correct, but when double checking Oragan Donors, I couldn't really find much else by them so it was hard to tell if this was a typo or not.

lawl. I like it, but are Mario/Sonic/The other games too iconic for an ITG pack? That's my only concern. Otherwise, it would be a great retro-sounding addition to the pack (like 8-bit trip and 180 Red).

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I was in the giant crowd at Gasworks along with 100,000 other people watching the spectacular fireworks show. Cool beans!

Anyways, I started composing my own Disconnected mix, Disconnected Inferno. Looking at the list so far, with the exception of 3 or 4 songs with really fast and chaotic rhythms, we don't have a plethora of songs for the high-end expert (13+), and while I don't want a ton, I definitely need a few for the mix, so I'm making this Disconnected a boss song, so I will be writing it with fast and hard-dropping rhythms.

As I stated before, I have Logic Pro 9 and I have a college degree in music composition. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea for me to write a song, allow me to pleasantly surprise you. Besides, I'm only going to do one for the pack. This project isn't here to show off my music, but I can use it to make a good sounding Disconnected. Right now I'm leaning towards a very fast house feel such as New Decade from DDR, obviously with the Disconnected sound files.

I like the piano, but I don't like how retro it sounds at the very beginning. Piano and retro tunes don't exactly mesh well IMO. Also, I think the song gets VERY intense VERY quickly. I know this is to be a 13, but maybe take an extra measure before you really start cranking up the intensity.

Other wise, I think it's pretty decent. I'm looking forward to hearing a more refined version.

Also, I am not musically inclined AT ALL. So forgive my use of inappropriate words or any lack of understanding I may have for proper musical composition and/or structures.
