Matt (zeppy) is really into it.  I want to try it too.  DoReMiMania is pretty kickass from what I've heard.

I can't remember who all here plays it, but those who have seem to really like it.

i've played it once, back at iz... but that was when the only bemani experience i had, was ddr. now, i play like almost any music/rhythm game you can think of and this would be a nice addition Smiley
i'll probably get it when i get my next paycheck

It's nice because it's real piano/keyboard playing with a different note system... but it's still playing a piano/keyboard. :-P

I played piano for a few years and I thought it was cool at first, but it made me feel like I was taking piano lessons again, so that wasn't cool.

I've been playing Piano for somewhere around 6 years, I think.  I really want to give KBM a try, because I'm pretty sure that I could totally pwn some of those crazy charts that are pretty much untouched.

There's a "KeyBoard Heaven" cabinet, if you're interested in blowing $1500 on a cab.  I'm not sure what sort of songlist this game has.

IMO, KBM is really fun, but kind of easy.  KBM II/III CS (which I hadn't played until recently) is more-but-still-not-extremely challenging.

Sadly, I've never been able to find an arcade that has a cabinet, so my sole experience is with these console mixes.

That's something I wouldn't be so sure about Wink

We'll see.
Just from watching youtube videos, I KNOW that I can pwn a lot of the shit that's considered really hard.
Seriously, the people who put up those videos know, like, nothing about the keyboard.

Is it like real piano playing?  I've been playing piano for a few years too.  Well, I guess it is.

It is like real piano playing, in that if you take the charts and play them on a real piano/keyboard you'll end up with almost exactly the same thing.

I could upload the old keyboardmania simulation pack for pc if anyone's interested...

Yes, and you can also map the "ubs" controller of any sort to Joy2Midi.

To respond:  I have been playing piano for 16 years, none of the songs are particularly hard.  Just reading them for the first time with the note interface like that, makes it seem super difficult, compared to other bemani.  When In fact, if it was real piano sheet music, I could likely play most of the songs after just a few hours of practice.  If you look at a real song from piano on DoreMiMania, for example one of the songs in the megapack, Waltz in C# Minor by Chopin, it may look impossible, but thats what a real song looks like.  Good luck!  It's a fun game.

So in other words it is still harder than most all other bemani.

Purely because of the interface =].  Well, maybe not, because people can read IIDX doubles and the charts are spaced quite far apart.  It's just awkward for me to read such a wide notechart XD, particularly for doubles on Keyboardmania.

The game's difficulty stems from reading the falling notes. Many people just memorize the sheet music. I can't read music, so the game is much more difficult.

My goals in video game life:  Get keyboard Mania, Taiko Drum Master and buy a DMX machine.
