The tournament structure and bracket is as follows:

Eligible Divisions:

    * Elementary Division: Students in Grades 3-5
    * Middle School Division: Students in Grades 6-8
    * High School Division: Students in Grades 9-12

Competition Timeline:

Round One:  Statewide Qualifier

    * Students from all over the state will compete against their classmates in their division at their respective schools
    * First and Second place from each Qualifier advance to next round

Round Two:  Regional Championships

    * The winners of the Round One Qualifiers will compete in seven Regional Championships to determine who will advance to the state finals
    * First and Second Place winners from each region will be invited to the State Championships

Round Three:  State Championship Tournaments

    * Championships will be held in the state capital of Charleston
    * Winners of Round Two Regional Championships will compete against each other
    * Top three places in each Division will be awarded scholarships and prizes


That actually sounds pretty cool to me - play DDR at your school and then move on to play kids from other schools? That would be a lot of fun.
