Welcome to Suko’s Stupid Super Challenges!

What is SSC? It’s a continuing monthly event that will test your bemani skills and force you to compete in ways you never have before!

The rules are simple:
- At the beginning of each month there will be a challenge issued.
- You will have until the last day of the month to submit your best score for the challenge.
- The top three scores will be awarded points.
- Points will be accumulated throughout the year. At the end of each quarter, points will be totaled and VIPs will be chosen based off their scores. There will also be Annual VIPs based off totals achieved throughout the year. (Physical awards are a definite possibility. Stay tuned!)
- Score submissions to SSC can be made via a photo or video that legibly shows the score being submitted. Post all scores in this thread by the deadline.

FAQs:
Important answers to common questions will be collected here as they’re answered.

Q: Can I make a suggestion for a monthly challenge?
A: Sure! But depending on the challenge you propose, you may not be qualified to participate that month’s event in order to make it fair and balanced for all players.

Q: I got this great score, but I didn’t take a picture in time. Is it still a viable score?
A: In most cases, no. You know what they say, “Pix or it didn’t happen”. However, if you have a lot of trusted witnesses that saw your score, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it.

Q: Aw man! I got a kick ass score on that song a few months back! Can I submit it for this month’s challenge?
A: Nope. Only scores obtained during the month of the challenge will be accepted.

Q: I have this awesome idea on how to set some mods so I can get way more points than the other players, can I do that?
A: Generally, if limitations aren't specified, then you're free to apply whatever mods you want. However, if the mods will unbalance the challenge, I request that you PM me so I can make an amendment. If you don't, I might be forced to disqualify scores or restart the challenge due to an exploit.

Q: I got my best score for this challenge at 11:59 pm on the 31st! Can I still submit my scores!?
A: Sure. If you can submit pictures/videos of your scores by Noon on the following day, I'll still let it count.

SPERGIN 4's chart list is SOOO much bigger than previous SPERGINs. Maybe there's been a slight resurgence!

Also, if you do a double's challenge I'll be there. Only thing I can vaguely compete in.

Ok. Since Andrew asked me to bring this back, I think I'll give it another try. Since Spergin is the end of this month, I'd really like to find a way to integrate it into this month's challenge. Do any of you have suggestions?

Current thoughts:
  • Great attack on some chart with a really weird beat
  • Highest combined mean total % from any 5 SPERGIN charts
  • Playing a specific, super gimmick chart (possible with a mod to make it awkward)

I'd volunteer Visible Noise from ITG2 if you wanted to do the weird beat one. That would cause HEADACHES.

Oh I see how it is... My subtle nudge wasn't good enough for you...

most of you guys are now super elite awesome pros

At stamina anyway Wink I'm sure you can make it plenty challenging otherwise. And some DDR stuff would be great too for upcoming months, maybe just different challenge courses or something.

^ Yeah you should remember that there is a WHOLE page of weird ITG mods to pick from. I know recently a lot of people have been playing pretty hard ITG1 & 2 songs on blender. Not "exactly" sure what it does but I know it gets messy.

But I like the DDR stuff because it's fairly more accessible.

I recently saw Aaron post an AAA on a light song on Stealth Shuffle. There are still lots of possibilities out there.

Actually, now I feel bad. When I saw that this thread had been resurrected, I clicked the icon that (should) take me to the first new unread post and it showed Andrew's. So, sorry about that Alan. Thanks for the subtle nudge.

I'm just getting back from visiting my family in Cali. Give me a few days and I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something.

Since it's July, this month's challenge is going to be...

July's Challenge:

Song: July
Difficulty: Hard (Expert optional)
Mods: 1x, Dark, Fade Out, and NO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!

Objective: We're going to start this out by keeping it simple. Play July using the modifiers outlined above and post a photo of our best score (highest percentage) here before the end of July.

Optional Challenge: I know that some of you love your super hard songs and probably think playing a 9 is super boring. So to make things (optionally) more interesting to you beast mode players, I'll let you do the same challenge, but on the 11 Expert chart. Please be aware that your scores will still be compared to those who are doing the 9 for the challenge. I'm just giving those of you who WANT to play uber hard stuff the opportunity to do so with this challenge.

Good luck. I think you're going to need it.
