Whoa whoa whoa, soon to be upgraded to SN? Where'd you hear this and who the hell do I have to talk to so that this DOESN'T happen? We've already got a SN in Moscow and I love Extreme, if they get rid of this one, we won't have any left.

Wow.  If this goes down, it'll be just like when people upgraded to Extreme.  But then, people came to really like EX, so maybe it won't end up too badly.

Suko, if you need a place to play EX, come up to our area, we've got 4 machines in Coeur d'Alene, and like, 3 more in Spokane.

I won't deny that I'm crazy enough to drive an hour and a hlaf just to play DDR, but it sure as hell won't be a weekly pilgrimage.

Well it happened, Zeppos now has a SN machine. However, there is some good news. It is still only 50 cents a play AND it's a dedicated cabinet...sorta. The cabinet itself is indeed (to the best of my knowledge) 100% genuine DDR SN cabinet. However, they left the same ole' pads that were on the old machine. This isn't terrible though, since Zeppos pads have always been 8/10 or better in my opinion.

someone should update the first post, and the title,  so we all can see that SN is there, without having to read each post. This is some serious news. (i think)

Yeah So Deep was my favorite, followed by Rhythm and Police.
I heard that there is going to be a several hundred song update for SuperNOVA this summer. If so, they better bring back those two songs.

Sorta. It was going to be an update, but now all signs point to it being DDR SN2 instead. Which I for one welcome. If they can seriously give me 500+ songs on one machine, I will be extatic.

SN2 looks pretty cool. I heard that now it'll have your personal high score and a blinking light if you've passed it (like IIDX), but that is implemented with e-Amuse in Japan (I think), so I wonder if/how they'll do it for America...

They finally turned up the volume on this thing. Now you can play it when more than 2 people are playing other games in the arcade...WOOT.

Any updates on this location?

Current status as of 2 months ago:

The current machine is DDR Supernova dedicab with the (I assume) the old DDR Extreme's pads. It costs 75 cents here to play a 3 song set. The machine works great and the only problem I have had playing here is the volume can be too low when it's a busy night at the bowling alley. Oh yeah, and sometimes you have to deal with ridiculous drunk college people. It's not that bad, but it can throw your game off sometimes.

They also have a Guitar Hero arcade cabinet set at $1 for 1 song, lol.

Is ITG2 still there?

I looked on DDRFreak and couldn't find any other location other than this one.

The ITG2 machine never was here. You're thinking of the Wallace Dorms at the University of Idaho in Moscow. It's only about 15 minutes from Zeppos, but the machine isn't there anymore. They closed the arcade about 1.5 years ago and my friends and I bought the ITG2 machine for private use.

Well now I know rather than making a special trip out there.

Hey Jon, is there anyway you could change the first post to update this information? The machine is (and has been for a while) a DDR SuperNova cabinet with original Konami pads (not Betson). And there are no memory cards lots on this cabinet...never had been IIRC. Also, the price is 75 cents for a 3 song set.

This information almost sounds exactly like the Bumpers arcade...perhaps Fish got confused and put the wrong info down years ago.

In case anyone cares, this machine is still working A-OK. No problems to report.

For any interested parties, the Zeppoz arcade is undergoing some changes; it's turning into a redemption arcade...

Over the past several weeks they've been losing a few things like Time Crisis, the pinball machines, and the Star Wars Podracing game. There are like, 6 machines left in the arcade right now.

Good news is that DDR SuperNOVA is still there and working fine. 1P side is great, 2P side feels a bit stiff but it probably just hasn't been worked in as much. No word on whether it will stay, but I imagine if they were planning to get rid of it they would've done so by now; it's the largest game there at the moment (aside from the air hockey table).

They're bringing in skee ball...

don't get me wrong i love a game of skee ball every once in a while
but that's not going to keep me coming back regularly. :(

I wrote a haiku;

Zeppoz get update
become redemption arcade
need more music game

Oh man, that WOULD suck if they got rid of that DDR machine. That would be the last one left in the area.

Like you said, I don't think they would. DDR and Air Hockey were always the two machines being constantly used on busy nights. I mean, come on, DDR goes with ANY kind of arcade, right?

Well, I just dropped by planning to get a few games in and I happened to arrive just as they were setting up all the new machines.

SURPRISE!
DDR X2!

I'm very happy about this, as long as they keep the machine in good condition (seen a lot about X and X2 platforms breaking down). I've played like two games on an X2 machine because the one at Gameworks Seattle has had a bum side (1P side IIRC).

Not sure what the cost per play is yet, but I am planning to go check the place out again tonight to see if everything is up and running. Sure hope it's still $0.75 but I'm doubtful, haha.

Besides the X2 machine, the only other things there were the Fruit Ninja touchscreen game (Fruit Ninja FX I think it's called?), air hockey table (I think it's new, not sure), and then a bunch of others still in boxes or wrapped up. After seeing X2, it raises my hopes that they listened to my suggestions and picked up a few other music games (T3, IIDX, etc) but considering the size of the place, I don't know. We'll see when I visit again! I'm excited! Waho~!

Looks like you (Suko), f1sh, rain, and whoever else have to come back and claim your high scores again!

Bwa ha ha ha. Rain's score are were still there, eh? I don't think he's been back to Pullman since he graduated in '08. He and I are both surprised our scores were still all over that machine (and the one at Bumpers before it left). I will likely be heading to Pullman sometime this summer, and I will do my best to swing by and get a few AAA's before I go.

the new arcade officially opened today! they're using a card based system now, no cost to acquire / activate a card though.

DDR X2 is $1.00 per play.

Volume was low, so I asked them to turn it up. Then it started to get kind of busy and the sound was drowned out again. I mentioned it to the folks at the counter on my way out and they said they would turn it up some more. Not much else to say; it's brand new.
As everyone knows, the new Betson platforms don't feel as good. Just have to get used to it though, I suppose.

Probably gonna go play again tomorrow and put in the unlock codes while I'm at it.

I wish I could go out there to play with someone. There's not many people to play out here in Spokane. (Well None)

Andrew, are there any regular players in the Pullman/Moscow area anymore? I know when I was there (2003 - 2008) players tended to come and go, but there were usually at least 2-5 of us at any time that played regularly.

I only visit that area about once or twice a year, but I sometimes see some people playing on the machine at Zeppos every now and then. This gives me some hope that there's still some kind of a DDR scene at WSU.

As far as I know, no. Since I started playing again in April or so, I've only seen one other person playing and that was last Thursday. I drop in a few times a week, sometimes early afternoon, sometimes late afternoon, but rarely past 6PM, so it's very possible I'm just not there at the right time.

That's too bad. The next time I'm visiting Pullman, I'll try and remember to post on here before I go play at Zeppos for "old times sake".

threw a pnwbemani tag on the X2 cab, hopefully can hook a few players and find some other regulars.

I'd love to go, but that's quite the drive for me.

I used to drive 1.5 hours to Spokane just to play DDR and it was definitely worth it at the time.

Now I'm old(er) and not as motivated.

I'll be in the PuMo area (Pullman/Moscow) this weekend. I don't think I'll be playing DDR the entire time (mostly visiting familiar places and cycling on the glorious paved trails in the area), but I do plan on going by Zeppos and putting a few scores on the machine.

Don't worry, I'm so out of practice that anything I can get SHOULDN'T stay on there for too long. Think of it as a motivator...something to attack. =D

Edit: Why did you have to close Bumpers!? I miss you so...

1P top arrow and 2P right arrow are both acting up, firing at random and sticking (1P is in worse shape, top arrow basically stays constantly lit). I mentioned it to the folks at the counter and they wrote it down, but who knows if/when it will get fixed.

lol, the 2P side didn't start acting up until just today AFAIK. 1P side has been misfiring for a while now, and in very bad shape for ~2 weeks or so.

Title: Re: [Arcade] Zeppoz Bowling and Casino (Zeppos) - Pullman, Washington - DDR X2!

I've been stopping in again once in a while as I have more time. Unfortunately, the 1P top arrow is super stuck and now the 2P left is also sticking pretty badly. 2P right is slightly unresponsive still.

I'm assuming they've done maintenance and repair, as everything was fine over some of my visits the past few months. They inevitably end up sticking again though, usually by my next visit, lol. I always mention the problems to the folks at the front counter, hopefully one of these days they'll just replace the sensors and stuff with new parts.

I hope so. I usually try to visit over the summer and it'd be nice if the machine was working.

Just visited on Oct 11th 2015 and this machine is mostly unplayable. The 1P side's right arrow would get stuck for 10+ seconds and I was barely able to pass anything. The 2P side is better, but no where near what I consider "reasonable" for a dance game. It would be nearly impossible to AAA anything with the state of these pads.

I don't know if it's for sale or not, but someone needs to rescue this DDR X2 machine from Zeppoz.

This used to be a great place to play DDR back in the mid 2000's, but since they swapped out the old SuperNova machine with this one, it hasn't seemed to work well at all. Every time I visited, it would be in a pretty poor state or barely playable. It seems they finally just gave up on it and shoved it into a corner.

I can only hope that someone can reach out to whoever the owner is and make this thing playable again.

Wow If i could get this for less than 1k I would totally buy it. Despite how terrible the pads actually are and the hardware It would still be a fun project to make nice.
