Sweet! I'm super excited for this guys! Cheesy
Just one question. Might be dumb, but will the machines be on free play like an hour before qualifiers start for warm ups? or no? I don't mind, just curious is all, and you guys using the most recent version on the ITG3 pack I assume?
other than thought, I'm super pumped.
Man three tournies in one summer for me, this is quite a lot. But damn I'm pumped. I'm bringing a storm

About first song vs. side, shouldn't it be that higher seeds picks first/second song or picks side rather than giving them first side no matter what if they don't pick side?  I personally find picking second to be advantageous for me, so by picking side any time the choice is mine, I get both of my preferences fulfilled, whereas players who feel it's better to go first are at a disadvantage because they either sacrifice side or have to hope their opponent picks the other side normally.  It's not really that important of a rule, but it's worth noting.

Cant wait for this shit! Make sure the songs on ITG3 and Rebirth get synced correctly though.

Actually Jon there's a fixed Rebirth pack which improves the syncing on a few songs.

Theres a number of songs that are pretty badly off-sync so I suggest once we get the updated pack we maybe populate a list of songs that are really bad and maybe we shouldn't use in the tournament. I'd hate to see someone pick a song thats way off sync and they win just because they know the syncing better than others or can offset the beat well in their head (I'm decent enough at this but its still an absurd player ability to test unless youre doing a Great Attack tourney).

BTW I'll probably be at Acme tonight, some of you should come play!

I do have to say that I feel like just as someone may pick a stamina song on somebody who doesn't have the stamina, picking a poorly synced song is an element of strategy. It's no worse to practice a song that's a full twelfth note off or whatever and use that than it is to practice Heaven and use that.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'll be at acme tonight, too.

Ok really, syncing songs is not that hard. Really I find it would be lazy not to sync the songs for a tourny. Besides, nobody wants to play songs that are a full 16th note of, it's just not fun for anyone.

12th notes and 16th notes are arbitrary quantities.  A song that's a 16th note off at 60bpm is much worse than the same at 300bpm.

Anyway, I do agree that songs should just be resynced for ITG2, since it's easy to get that done.  SuperNOVA will just have to suck it up because everything's offsync, so anyone entering a tournament for it should be capable of playing offsync. (btw, the Great windows in SN are VERY close to the Marv windows in Extreme.  I'm basing that off of feel and not fact; they feel very close to me.)

I'll even help sync them if its an issue. Takes about a minute each to do so.

There's a difference between picking and playing a song to play the way it was meant to be played and exploiting a flaw in the game/laziness on the part of the players. By the way speaking of elements of strategy you guys better practice your hands and crossovers, I'm putting some dirty ones up my sleeve Wink I'll prob be up at Acme tomorrow in case people want to drop in.
