Sucks that they still don't support Xbox 360. I'd buy one just for that. You think now that Red Octane is making Guitar Hero controllers, they'd apply it to the 360 for the solid, but unfortunately neglected DDR Universe series

I know. Universe has some awesome songs/charts in it. Unfortunately you're pretty much stuck playing the damn things with a flimsy soft pad.

Have you seen Universe 3 yet? I finally bought a copy for $35 new w/ pad and it was worth it... even though I only play on controller to listen to the music
Despite having 3 songs by DM Asura on it, it manages to be a great mix

I put the entire Universe Ultramix series on our dedicab and they're some of our favorite straight-forward charts on the machine. Very AAA-able.

If I ever get an XBox 360, the Universe/Ultramix games are going to be the first things I buy. I'll probably get a couple with the softpads and see if I can rip 'em apart and turn the chips into control boxes for the chips I have. I wish I'd been able to find both of them BEFORE leaving four perfectly good pads (albeit with no chips) on the deck for seven months to rot, but now that I've got them tucked away safely for when I do get a chance to make a couple of frames, I'll at least be able to get myself started playing StepMania again soon. :]
Anyway, on-topic... I haven't bothered to keep up with the quality of Ignition Pads since the 3.0's were around. Have they gotten better? Worse? What significant changes have been made, if any?
EDIT:

Arcade-sized Circuitry for Higher Scores
The Ignition Dance Pad® 5.0’s buttons and sensors are arcade sized, bridging the difference so that you can achieve consistency in your game whether you're playing at the arcade or at home with soft pads
LOL so they have .5"x5" strips of sensors on the edges of the button regions then? Sounds like someone at RO didn't do their homework... ;P

Sadly, the Ultramix games don't work on 360. Or else I'd immediately go out and buy a used copy of Ultramix 2. For backwards compatibility individual games have to be emulated and tested.. I guess DDR isn't high on their list
Actually, I can't even remember the last time a 360 patch came out that enabled new Xbox games to be played on the 360
