- ORIGINAL POST -
Trying to gauge interest now that we have a date and all the drama has died down. This will hopefully be helpful for some of the final decisions, like what time to start.
NOTE: If you say you're definitely coming and ultimately don't (or you say you aren't coming and do), nobody will care. We're just trying to get a rough idea of size, and a little inaccuracy isn't going to ruin the tournament.

Be careful. We both know how some in this community can be. They say that they'll be there, then they show up after the event is half-way done, or they never even show up at all.

Hahahahahaha, I would say "burn" but it's not really a burn if you're just pointing out the truth. Clearly, Kevin should pick a start time and then post a much earlier one so nobody misses the ACTUAL tournament.

and also a heads up that don't base too much off the results in this poll. Meaning a third-half of the entrants might not even see this poll or be too active in the forums.
Factoring in any outside of forum people and other players that i hear may be coming, personally, i'd roughly guess 3-5 more people at least (than the poll will show).

I don't think that's very likely Neem. We have not had a single tournament where that many people showed up from outside the forums.

This isn't true at all. The last ITG tourney at Acme had half the players as not on the forums. DDR nationals (in 2009) had something like 40 entrants, <10 of whom were on these forums.

I'm guessing more on the order of double what this poll shows. I can easily think of more than 5 people who are probably going who definitely are not on the forums. I would plan for full (5 or 6man or whatever expert, 16man standard) brackets. And yes there should be a poster put up at Acme, and I will certainly be there almost every day telling people about it as well.

I hate to be the pessimistic arse, but I agree. I find it highly unlikely that more than 3 people from outside of these forums show up. It's easy for people to say they'll show up, but when the event time comes, you'll see just how many are serious about it.

I'm trying to think of who from the last ACME tournament wasn't on the forums. There were a couple of guys who drove here from Eastern Washington, but I think they posted on the Eastern Washington section of the forums. Then there was Tony, you, Amber, KevinDDR, Gorrum-Kevin, Keby-Kevin, Mykl, and Kevbo, who admittedly doesn't post on the forums, but he was sort of with Amber. That's 8/12 players (that's how many entered the tournament - 11 or 12) accounted for on the forums for sure, and the Eastern Washington guys who may/may not post here obviously found out about it that way, since they couldn't go to ACME to find out about it.
I think we can get an accurate count on the forums.
Edit: DDR Nationals was different because:
1. Konami actually advertised on their website and every other DDR site/forum mentioned it, so you didn't have to stumble upon a flyer or this site to know about it
2. This was the qualifier for the entire Northwest, so people from all kinds of states came to that. The point of the ITG tournament is to be local.
