OK, I have something to put here now.

Current topics for discussion:

What venues would you guys like to see this hosted at?

What songs sound like good qualifiers for DDR, Pump, IIDX?

What other events would you like to see happen other than Bemani tournaments?

What time in Winter '08 sounds good for you?

If you have any suggestions, comments, or offers of money (!), please contact:

Sketch, Soul of Ignorance, Footz, yeah.

Sketch is basically the Jimi Hendrix of DDR. His skills aren't that great overall but he was excellent at doing retarded shit like stealthing.

So this tournament.

Uh. . . I just made some really intense tournament brackets.  I'll show them to you tomorrow.

I made a 16-person double-elim, a 32-person double-elim, and a 64-person mixed elim.

They're all intense and colour-coded and shit.

British spellings are universal English.  US spellings are limited to the US and a handful of other areas educated by people who can't spell in proper English.

I think you forgot the part about the US being the bestest country in the world.

Well, duh.  Without America, there wouldn't be US.

I'd really like to request a SM tournament. That's the only rhythm game I'm good enough at to be competitive.

Oh that's right! You're the guy that everyone was talking about. "Yeah oldskool player who moved to Oregon, good dude. How do you know of him?" Do you want to go? I can give you the logistics if you want, it would be kool as kats for us to hang out there...

By the way I'm kind of putting the tournament on the back burner for right now, so I'm passing things off to Kevin for a few weeks. Let him know all of your ideas, give him all of the references and contacts you can. I trust that he'll run things effectively. Actually forget trust, I KNOW he'll run things effectively.

Still super excited for this...!

I'd like to suggest Olympia Center.

If this is a 2-day event and we have it from Saturday 10am-2am and Sunday 8am-5pm, it would be $890 for the small gymnasium, $1765 for the large gymnasium, or $1265 for MPA.

I'm not sure if they would allow us to leave everything set up Saturday night, but I think this is an option we should look into.

Since we're not doing this at an arcade, I'd rather do Olympia than Seattle.  That way we could be more central.

Some links I found:

There is an former school building that i think we might be able rent out the gymnasium for, and people could crash at my pad across the street should this be a multi-day event.

I'll look into it further, but this could be a lot cheaper if we could do it there.

that be great, because it didnt get brought up a whole lot, but alot of us (me uncluded) would have nowhere to stay.

That would certainly be a victorious way to go.

Yeah, the Olympia Center isn't too bad.  Parking would be cheaper then in Seattle too.  Theres a bunch of meters, its about 35 cents for an hour of parking.  If you could get it at a school, that would be cool too.  We'd probably just have to make sure not to leave a mess.
