We're having a contest!

The logo that the site currently has is a modification of the one that comes with the forum theme.
The site has never really had an identity of it's own, so I'm opening up a contest to make a new logo for the forum.

All submissions will be put to a public vote here on the forum, including an option to stick with the old logo. The logo will be in the top left corner, Facebook Fan page, as well as adapted for the site's favicon.

Entries will be due November 11th - 3 weeks from today.

Let's go with...
Width: 300 - 500px
Height: 65px

The current banner is 11.46kb, so around that size range for the final graphic should work good.

ADDITIONALLY: a square modification of the final logo will also be needed for facebook and twitter.

Should the colors of the new logo mesh with the current site's theme and colors? What's your thoughts Jon?

I've spent time customizing this theme for our use - HOWEVER I am not attached to the color set.

Logos that match the current theme and color set will be the easiest to use (for obvious reasons).

The theme design/layout will probably be here for a long time, but if the color scheme on a new logo look great, I'll do my best to change the graphics and color scheme to work. Smiley

Some logos may work ok with the color theme as it is. We'll have to see once we pick a winner. So go ahead and submit logos with any color scheme. Feel free to submit the same logo in different colors if you'd like as well.

(One restriction now that I think of it - the site will not have a black background, so don't make a logo that depends on that)

I would love to help make a new logo, but right now I've got so much going on that I'm barely finding enough time to prepare for the DDR tournament in less than two weeks. I hope we've got some relatively creative people out there who'll step up to the challenge.

Facebook inverted the colors......lol, well imagine if you can, the text is white and the arrows are black.

What came to mind for me was that for any flyer/print purposes, the text would be hard to read on a sign/paper since most of it isn't horizontal...

I could give you a bigger version for those purposes, but eh. I'll work on another logo tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback Cheesy

I like the overall idea behind those logos, but the gradients are kinda cheesy..... Cheesy
I like them though. I think I went to designy with mine lol. Let me submit a couple more.

Sure, deadline is extended a bit... not sure how long (day or two max), so get any entries in sooner rather than later.

And gradients can be easily removed if the rest is good. Wink
