If you are logged in, you will see a new link on the top menu: Photo Gallery!  Cheesy

This is exactly what you think it is.
Some nice features:
1) It saves them in pretty good quality (not the best, but better than say Facebook)
2) You can download them.
3) Mass upload of pictures
4) Comments

So yeah, it's a pretty full featured photo gallery. Let me guys know if you have problems uploading stuff to it because I'm not sure if I got all the permissions right (although I believe I did).

Have fun with it!

PS: Any abuse will get your ability to upload photos permanently removed, forever.

Woot.

Awesome feature. I've uploaded quite a few already!

I see that, awesome! Smiley

It wasn't set at first (with the Paradise pics you uploaded) to auto-approve member uploads, but it is now as you've probably noticed.

So, everything is cool w/ those pics then? They don't need approval or anything at this point?

Nope Smiley  It was originally set to where I had to manually approve *each* photo that was added... and I quickly changed that. Tongue

I just looked at the Digital Storm 2006 pictures from when I had long hair. I almost cried. It's been almost four years since then, unbelievable.

Got the link back on the top bar after the server move last month where the bar was reset. Smiley

How would I add a new sub folder to a photo album?

i.e. If I wanted to add photos of a local arcade under the Arcades folder?

Can I do this, or do you have to do that Jon?

I still CAN'T add stuff. Don't know if it's just my connection though.

Suko, unfortunately the media gallery doesn't allow regular members to add "general folders" to the site. Maybe an update to the script would allow us to, I could look into it.

But yeah, right now only photo gallery admin/mods can make those general folders... so I made you a mod, Suko. Hopefully your permissions are setup right.

Laura, does Tony's computer work?

I tried to make a new folder under the Arcades group for a location, but I didn't see any relevant options. I see the edit button, but nothing in there seemed to hint at making a new sub directory. Am I missing something? PM me if you need to.

Both Tony and I tried but it doesn't work.

Suko, try again now. Also, if you make a new folder and it gives you an error about file permissions not being set to 777, ignore that. What it really means is that it tried to make a folder name with an illegal character (like / or \ ). Make the folder name simple, then edit the gallery name afterward.

Eww, I wouldn't touch IE with a 10 foot pole.

Photos don't work for me either, and I'm using Firefox.

Ok, I just updated the version of the Photo Gallery, and made some adjustments to the permissions.

Please test it out again, and let me know if it works for you all now.
