For starters, name change option.  If you want to play on the safe side, have a "name change request" inbedded, so that users can't change their name until admin approve it.

Second, it would be cool if we had a recall system set up that could read scores directly from vjarmy, popnnavy, ddrecall, and groovestats.  You could probably do it similarly to the IM shiz.  This would make it a lot easier to find out where we stand on a community level as far as skill goes.

I'm also going to request that zeppy be unbanned, at least partially.  At the very least, remove the ban and make it so he can only post in the Oregon forum.  You know he's going to troll no matter what you do; this is called a compromise.  It's hard to get a clear idea of what everyone wants for get-togethers when one of our main playas isn't able to contribute his opinion.  No body in Oregon has a problem with him, and this is where everyone in Oregon is.

Thanks guys. =)

1) PM me your name change. That's no big deal for me to change.

2) What's wrong with each site's signature stuff people use on every other forum? There isn't any easy way to integrate it into the system, and putting it down by the aim icons would only be a link to the user's page.

3) Zeppy needs to ask that himself; and in no way would it be a "compromise". It would be grace.

1. k

2. Well, you seem to be pretty gung-ho about relevance around here; I figured that adding in a recall system where we could compare ourselves on a community level would be nice.  At the very least, do add to the profiles a space for recall, so that people don't have to waste their limited sigspace on such things.

3. He won't.  Read his posts on DDRFreak.  I know that neither of you are bad people, but you're tearing each other apart over nothing.  And what is it?  Pride?  I see two people making fucking idiots out of themselves and taking a personal matter into a public community, causing rifts to develop where they shouldn't be.  Matt used cynicism and irony to argue his points, but he followed the rules.  He posted many valuable posts which led me to a lot of insight.  You eliminated debate topics because you felt that they caused tensions.  Well, I promise you no debate would cause as much tension as this affair.  You also still haven't addressed the obvious problem that Oregon has effectively no say in this forum.  The system is corrupt in this sense because you have no reason to accommodate those of us in Oregon.  I personally have contributed more valuable posts on this site than any other member, but you refuse to listen to my reasoning.  You took the easy way out of getting to know and befriend Matt by removing him, despite protest.  You have built a monarchy and called it a community.  I am not calling you unfair; I'm calling you lazy, shortsighted, and inefficient.  I realise that I have the right to leave if I don't like it, but the cruel truth is that if I leave, I'm only taking away; I'm taking myself from this forum and this forum from myself, and leaving a lot behind.  This forum in itself does not appeal to me; it's basic, thoughtless, and unattractive; I'm here for the people.  I'm here because the community is here, and there are others who feel the same.  If you lose the community though, you're left with nothing.  I suggest you drop the prideful "greater than thou" attitude and start doing something, before this site dies altogether.

I said I don't know how to add it, besides putting a link to the recall profile... I'm not quite sure I get the idea of what you want? I could add a box like what you see with the "arcade" or "favorite bemani" but that's it... everything else was installing pre-made mods.

His is pride. I just said in my last post he can talk to me about it (which means I'm willing to talk to him about it). I do realize you are trying to get him back on, but this is his problem that he has created that he needs to deal with me about. If he can't take care of his own problems, I can't help him.

All his ddrfreak posts are, are drama-inducing posts

No one from Oregon has ever been oppressed, or threatened to be banned from speaking out against the way the site is. Zeppy has been the only one banned, and his frequent attacks on the forum since then have shown just how much he cares to 1) come back to the site, and 2) be mature about this situation.

FOR THE RECORD: I think you guys have this misconception that I'm the only one doing stuff here.

Cynic was the one who banned the idea of all the debate topics.

Believe it or not I wanted to keep most of them (minus the conspiracy threads). So the accusation that I was the one that eliminated the debate topics is ill-informed.

Regarding accommodating Oregon: How have you guys been mistreated? I'm very open to fixing it.

That's a pretty big statement there; and what rule says I have to listen to whatever you reason?  I do listen, (like I have with each of your appeals for zeppy), I just don't see it eye-to-eye with your reasoning.

I'm open to suggestions, as long as it's not "unban zeppy" because I already said I'm willing to talk to him about it.

Well, in case you haven't noticed. . .

I'm not the only one who feels like we're a little undermoderated.

We need a way to tie the knot between Portland and Seattle; we need to make the two into one before anything can happen.  We have get-togethers in Seattle, and get-togethers in Portland, but nothing in the 80 miles in between.  Here's my proposal: we dedicate a few months to organising an event at the halfway point and make sure that as many members here as possible can attend.  I'm not talking a get-together at an arcade or a BYOB at someone's house or hanging out at a restaurant; I'm talking a full-on mini convention for a weekend.

I don't intend to have to or be able to work something like that out by myself; I want the whole forum to come together and organise this, and then come to it.

I think that if we can do something like this, it will really secure the community.
