Please stop with leet/abbreviation and please make posts that are... worth reading. Bad examples:

Most of us are mature people here. While we aren't requiring that you be anywhere near the same level, we do require using what you've learned in school so far. This is not anything special to this community here. The simple grammar rule makes for more intelligent posts that do not get other forum members annoyed and makes you sound (somewhat) intelligent and worth having a conversation with.
You and luke haven't been on people's good sides lately and if you two don't pick it up a little there is a very, very high probability of being banned.

I'm also pretty sure you're not female either.

Having /.r/ (without the .) turned into /are/ is kind of annoying.

Just require people use proper spelling/grammar.  If they aren't capable of doing this, no need to "filter" them and try to make them look intelligent.  Just expose their immature posting style, warn them, and tell them to post in coherent English.  It does not take that much effort to type the two extra characters in "you", "are", "why", etc., and if they're too lazy to do that, they deserve a ban.  This is a message board, not an MMO; you aren't pressed for time.  

Usually these same people don't make very useful posts, anyway.

Side note: Not meaning to brag or anything, but my posts have always had roughly this post's level of proper spelling/grammar since I joined the Global BBS in 2001, and I was only 14 then.  Anyone here should be capable of making intelligible posts, unless our school system has somehow slid really badly in the last 5 years.

I have no qualms with grammar and spelling (former spelling nazi), but that doesn't mean I don't like to run off and babble a novel's worth of unintelligible garbage.

No, go to 2chan or some other crappy forum to do that. There are plenty of places to do that, we are not having one here.

As for the word filters, cynic already removed all the ones he put in earlier. There are no filters when I just checked now.

1) 2chan isn't crappy.  But 4chan is, I'll give you that.
2) Most of us don't speak a fluent level of Japanese.
3) How do you even know they're speaking in netspeak (assuming you fall into the majority of part 2)?
