I vote to add "/IIDX" at the end of the word beatmania.
So far, I can get about AA/A on 9's, about an A on the easier 10's (V is a 2, be quiet), and about AAA/AA 8's and below (I've been having trouble with some 7's/8's though).

Beatmania US is pretty decent for new players. You'll wanna swap to the JP versions later though.

Beatmania US has a couple of decent exclusives (very easy) but the rest of the music on it is fairly old. also the interface is the same as 9th style but the color scheme is horrible. If you really want to get into it talk to me on aim and i will tell you how to get started

no there is something wrong with that turn table... it gets stuck and will not stop scratching until you hit the turntable.. it does it in the song select screen and during gameplay... one of bills maintenence workers came lastnight so maybe it is fixed now

Hey, is there any way to play Another mode on BMUS, anyone? I don't plan on having the money for imports any time soon (I'm putting most of my spending money into building a SM cab), and I doubt I'll still be having trouble with 5's and 6's by then. I don't want to be limited to 4 songs that can challenge me. ;P
I'm pretty new, playing 3's and 4's primarily, and attempting 5's. My VJArmy: DancingTofu/djTOFU.

ORLY? I could swear I've at least played everything on Beginner by now.
Or is Beginner just so weaksauce that it's not REALLY considered a difficulty, but a lack thereof?
I'll check tomorrow, right after rolling my katamari for a couple hours.

It's because Japanese people actually have 2 invisible fingers on each hand (they can count to 14!), which is also why they play IIDX, not DDR.

IIDX only originally went up to 5* in 1st style, then to 7* at some point before 5th. Then flashing 7* from 6th-9th, 8* for 10th, and flashing 8* for RED. At no point before HS did the ratings go to 10*.
Somewhat off-topic and pretty nitpicky, but I think "Beatmania/IIDX Accomplishments" would be a much neater-looking title for this thread. The current title just looks so awkward to me.

ok... beatmania US was released AFTER Happy Sky arcade... it should have used Happy sky ratings but they didnt which is weird [/offtopic]
