^^ lol!
Don't you have a couple hard pads? YOu should try for something easy like...
hm... Kind lady was my first (max2 CS) theres some toher good 6s and 7s. songs that are mostly 18th notes and not too much chaos are easiest to SGD and AAA.
I love 18th notes. ;P

And 18th note would mean you're playing 4 and a half notes per beat.

I've seen one song in my life with 18th notes.
I failed them.
It also had fuggin' 14th notes.
I didn't fail those quite as much.
The fact that I was playing this sightread w/ 8 mallets (2 bells, 2 xylo, and 4 vibe) in my hands didn't help.
Seriously, I don't know anyone other than me who could have played any ONE of those 3 parts right.
NOBODY could play all three at once.

Solid proof that my band teacher is crazy.

on topic:

My first AAA on da machine is gonna be on of the following:
-Look to the Sky
-Look to the Sky (Colors)
-Absolute
-Sexy Planet (nonstop megamix)
-A (heavy)
or
-Abyss

I should have those all AAA'd by summer.

You're not gonna AAA absolute because of the ending. And you won't AAA A because of A.

A's heavy chart is easy.
I'll AAA it.

I've AAA'd Absolute's ending 2 times at the arcade now, out of 5 tries.
The time I got 9 on it, 7 of them were in easy parts, one was on the note right before it slows down, and the other was on the second to last note.
I'll AAA it.

I flagged Abyss back in December 2004 and I still haven't AAA'ed it

BBH is awesome at gallops

A is not easy.
Getting greats on easy parts and "being able" to AAA one part of a song don't equal a full AAA. You have to be able to nail every single part consistently and get it all to come together in one run. It's really not that easy at all, especially not on Absolute.

Just AAA Kind Lady, jesus, the song is like not even a 7.

Was planning on getting my first AAA on dream a dream, just since it was the first heavy song I passed, but that's a good one to try too.

Easy AAA = songs that I whore.

I won't AAA Kind Lady 'cause I play it less than 4 times a year.

I play A and Absolute all the time 'cause I like them.  They're both easy stepcharts too; nothing in them is "hard" at all.  They're both a bunch of repeated rhythms with minimal/no crossovers, and easy speed changes. (The slowdown at the end of Absolute isn't hard, just tedious, and patience AAA's it)

Regardless, Look to the Sky (True Colors Mix) is gonna be my first AAA unless something comes speeding in from left field, 'cause it's the only song I can get a consistent grade on, other than A [oni], which is a consistent ~35 greats. (not in my AAA range)

I think it's harder to AAA if you haven't played/practiced all the heavy charts, because then one only can specialize in certain types of charts. Or maybe I'm being quick to assume that you only specialize in certain charts. Or maybe all that won't matter. Actually, everyone starts out with AAAing less complex songs, soo... since you aren't doing that, good luck and have fun with that, heh. Smiley

I actually AAAd something today. La Copa. Finalllyyy. Avalon's right side seems to be great. Huh.

Some shit from today:

A [heavy] - 7.  OMG GUYS UR RITE I CANT DO IT
Look to the Sky (true colors mix) - 5.  HI DAR
321 Stars - 8 or 9.  Out of left field.
Holic - 8.  First time playing it since November.
Pop4 [normal] - 9 greats.  Wasn't quite good enough to get me on the high score board though. =(

I also cleared Freckles on Doubles (surprisingly difficult), and got about halfway through HVAM.  I'm finally starting to improve again on doubles.  Pretty much everything I do on doubles is sightread.  I'd go to Tilt! for double premium, but doubles is only 40 cents at wunderland, but I still don't play doubles often because 20 cents for singles feels so much more worth it to me. (4 A's/AA's for 20 cents is more appealing to me than 3 C's/B's for 40)

Shitty PA, but I also FC'd HVAM for the first time in forever.
For some reason, I still really suck at 10's.
I think I FC'd Cartoon Heros, but I'll have to check that.

I've also gotten a lot of my beatmania scores up.
I think I've passed every 4 and 13 5's on BMUS now.
I'm also within 10 of AAA on 3 or 4 songs in the 2-3 range.

Phylicia, I do sort of "specialise", but not how you're thinking.  I have about 80 or so songs that I play regularly, 30 or so songs that I play often, and maybe 10 songs that I play every time I go to the arcade.
Today was the first time I ever really played seriously; normally I just pick songs I like and never play the same song twice in one day.

Also two on Little Bitch oni.

Wow, we've all made great progress this weekend! Smiley

I too have made some notable movement this weekend. I'm RIGHT on the cusp of my first AA on the Expert level (called the Heavy level on earlier versions) for "Funkytown", a seven-footer. I'm within four-tenths of a percent from the achievement (about 94.6% the current score)

I also picked up my fourth and fifth AAA's on the Difficult level ("Let's Dance", "Kagerow (Dragonfly)") Smiley That brings my total AAA count to 139 (69 Beginner, 65 Basic, 5 Difficult)

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

have you tried Shivers (Radio Edit) on standard yet? that was my first (and only) standard AAA.
Anyways, went to NT to get some new scores, and $22.00 worth of tokens (prize from tourny) was stolen, so not much new in the arcade score area. V.V

My current top score on "Shivers (Radio Edit)" on the Standard/Difficult level is 90.7%. Smiley

It is fascinating how some tracks come easier or harder to some than others. I haven't gotten even a AA on that track yet while you've dominated it, while I have AAA'd "Balalaika, Carried With The Wind" while another said the same track on the same level has proven to be annoying, etc.

We all have to start somewhere, I suppose, and to all of us that somewhere is elsewhere, LOL! Congratulations on that AAA by the way! Smiley

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton
