Um, I could post GHero accomplishments but they wouldn't be any good ones.  Same with GF =P  But I do play both those games too.

Nice, I can S Infinite extreme but not with that high of a perfect count (think my highest was more like 86/87).

Man, the green stuff wasn't bothering me...maybe the screen started doing that after I left the other day.\

Uhhh-
Where'd your combo get broken?  The triple bass part?  That always messes me up too (it's either that part or the beginning and ending...)

i actually don't have much problems with the triple kicks. i usually mess it up at the part right after it, where it's still in the 8th note kicks and i also screw up the beginning sometimes and the ending sometimes.

and today i got a 1500+ combo goin on it and messed it up again where i said (after the triple kicks) Sad
2600+ perfects (i normally get around 2500+)
160 something greats
10 or so goods
i forgot exactly how many NCs there were
i think 9-13 NCs

Cleared ファミレス・ボンバー Adv. on DM

Yeah, I suck now since it's been forever since I played seriously.  Still, DM makes a great stress reliever. Smiley

I've been using dark too lately.  It's affected my perfect count slightly (prob cuz I'm still getting used to it) but overall my combos and ability to read tough notecharts has improved.

Yeah, tough notecharts often mean that notes seem to blend into the background. Dark totally eliminates that.

Depends =P  Some people swear by it.. but for me it means great count + 20 every time.. at least.. I just can't figure out where the damn line is.  For me, the biggest thing that made a difference in seeing the notes was Position-B.. that definetly helps no matter what.

I only use dark because my visual acuity sucks dongs.

Position B is really good though, that's always true. I usually play 4x Position B Dark Combo Right.

geez checkrox, crazy stuff and insane speed reading. at least on drummania, i think x4.0 -x4.5 is a pretty decent speed and i'm not too familiar with guitarfreaks' average comfortable reading level, but i would think 7.0 is too fast :?

I play @4x+dark+combo right; might have to try that Position B though...

As for GF, I play with the same settings, but I think it's about time I moved up to 4.5x; most good players seem to do 5x or higher.

It's all variable.. although in my honest opinion anything less than 5x your really giving yourself a handicap on improving.  I started GF on 3x.. then went to 5x for the longest time.  Then I met this dude.. and he played on 7x.. and he told me if I did the same, I would get better.  It was hard for about the first 2 or 3 plays.. then I just got used to it.  Most "pros" use varying speeds, although in japan 8.0x is seemingly the most common.  I would say the vast majority of players fall between 7-8.5x range.  Although there are several (including kuribo!) that use varying speeds from 5.5-whatever depending on what song they are playing.  From what I've seen though, there is a direct correlation (up to a point) of increased speed versus increased reading skill/scores.

Is there a secret to Miserlou? (GuitarFreaks). I get a bunch of non-comboes when I think I'm actually doing it right.

Oh yeah, 5 *'d Beast and the Harlot.

Read February 13, 2007, 06:59:03 PM #48

you mean guitarhero? well there isn't really a secret but even though you think you're doing it right, some people tend to go too fast or their arms get tired and start to go slower even though they're pretty sure they're going the same speed.
when i play it, i put an accent on every 1st quarter note (in one measure if counting in 4/4 time) of the streams so i can hear that i'm on beat, although it takes awhile for some to get use to that

IIRC, Misirlou is in GF as well as GH.

That being said, you're probably right in thinking he's talking about GH, just wanted to point out that it's in both games.
