But violent video games weren't his only pastime: He also was obsessed with the dancing game "Dance Dance Revolution." He not only played it at home, he went to a local theater that had a version in its lobby nearly every weekend, playing it for as long as 10 hours at a time.
I could make jokes about how the NSA will now profile every DDR player in
our country
the world. I could argue how this is irrelevant. I could argue that this is proof that video games (no matter how disconnected from violence) can and will be tied to murderers. But really, I'd just like to know how good he was. Can you MAX?

I find this thread extremely inappropriate and offensive, it's not humorous even if it is out sarcasm.

There is absolutely nothing inappropriate about this thread. The news story reported that the guy played DDR, and that it was a non-violent video game. That information was repeated here. Big deal.
Naturally, I hope the media doesn't decide that DDR fosters rampaging psychopaths. But I can't even begin to grasp why someone would take offense to having the information repeated here. It's completely on topic for a forum about music games, and nobody said "ha ha, isn't that a laugh?" or anything of the sort.
EDIT: Ok, so Suko was being funny a bit with the "how good was he?" comment, but still.

The truth is that 20 kids died at Sandy Hook Elementary that day, and 6 teachers/faculty also lost their lives.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing this tragedy up to discuss such issues but to make a tasteless joke asking about the skill level of the killer was inappropriate.
I understand that Suko is relaying the information here, there is nothing wrong with that. It was the manner in which the information was repeated here, ending with a joke.
Lets put it this way, Suko's thread reduced the real issue here down to a joke.

I'll be the first to admit that I can lack tact at times. But let's all be honest, if Charles Manson was found to be a skilled chess player, I bet a good number of people in the competitive chess community would be curious to know his abilities.
I'm serious about my being curious to know how good this guy used to be at the game. I'd also be curious to know how good Justin Bieber or Bill Clinton is at DDR if the news told me they played it 10 hours a day. Crimes committed or not, any time DDR makes the news it piques my interests.

You clearly have no idea of what actually happened. Go educate yourself and then talk.
