I found this interesting Google Insights tool that lets you see historical search data.

I put in DDR and say 2 interesting stats:
1) DDR searches SPIKE in December (gifts)
2) DDR has really fallen from what it used to be.

Check Out the Details

Wow, this was fun to look at. I'm surprised DDR's decline has been so...steady. I kind of expected to see it going up until 2005, then have a steady downward trend to the present. Also, PiU surprised me. I didn't expect it to hold it's popularity so well over the last 4 years.

Go Rhode Island for being in the top 8!  It's interesting to see which communities are still alive based on the searches.

Montana - You suck.

I bet searches for Rock Band have gotten up significantly.

My guess that there is some Rock Band/Guitar Hero forum out there that is booming.

Here's the link for those stats.

It turns out that all music games have been on the decline since January 2009.

I'm not surprised.
The genre has gotten so saturated over the years.
