January 31, 2007, 12:48:19 PM - ORIGINAL POST -

This thread had to start some time.  Although I've seen exactly zero people post that didn't already talk to eachother already, the aim is to have more people show up, right?  Yes.

About me.

name: James
age: too old
how to find me: I'm 5'9 and half asian.  Like everybody else at ACME, but whatever Smiley
I show up at ACME bowl every now and then.
I like DDR more than ITG for the most part but give both equal playtime, and also I play a lot of IIDX at home, it's a great game.
I am what can be generalized as a "scorer." That is, I play to get the highest score possible on everything.
My tag is "5DAI" on ITG/IIDX or "GODAI" on DDR usually.  Sometimes other names if I feel like it.
I am a pretty darn good simfile maker (as judged by me) but don't make a whole lot due to time constraints.  I take requests but they don't get fulfilled a lot for the same reason.

Nice to meet you.

That would explain why I can FS but I suck at DDR.

Oh, and since tada has tried to crucify me as uneducated, I am currently attending college and am studying neuroscience and psychology to become a drug and alcohol counselor. I hope that clears up any misconceptions that his personal attack on me may have caused.

I'm really interested in psychology as a possible major, but sadly I haven't gotten to take a single course in it yet. I'm thinking of counseling, also. That career route sounds really rewarding.

I seriously almost don't believe this due to the way you've posted so far... either that or I would never want you to be my drug counselor if I needed one.  :?

Cross-post from another thread:

http://www.pnwbemani.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1928&highlight=#1928

Also, I remember one time you said "let's all smoke da mystical peace pipe" or something like that in response to some argument (though it's hard to cite a deleted post). That really doesn't sound like something an alcohol/drug counselor would say, even jokingly.  The other masses of pointless threads you posted in the PNW forum on ITGFreak also stick out in my mind.

Eh, I'll just let you go ahead and take the internet far too seriously. Both you and BlueSS know all too well that I don't take the internet seriously. So "cross-posting" isn't going to do you much good. And I don't think you understand Drug/Alcohol shit at all, tada. Many counselors are recovering addicts themselves, and many counselors themselves use. It's not the use, it's the psychology behind the use. Addiction is the inability to retain control, even though you wish to. You'll find that many professionals aren't against use, they are simply against the kind of abuse that you see in extreme cases. You'll also find that there is humour even at some NA/AA meetings that is a ton sketchier than that. And don't expect me to "quote" NA/AA meetings, because that shit is sworn to secrecy. You both talk out of your asses so much, and it just means I get to have more fun. Basically, both of you are proving that you're excellent at making untrue/fallacious assumtpions.
Tada, I don't how you pull off this mental masturbation that makes you try to pull shit against people you don't even know.
BlueSS, you take the internet far too seriously, and you highlight a problem in society that we are developing. The fact that you take words from a mouth you can't even see scares me. The fact that you love to conspire against people in order to keep some sort of "cool quota" in the bemani community amuses me as well.

Blah, internet people.
PS: If you guys hold that much against me, then why not ban me, eh? Obviously you two have ample evidence to support a ban. Or would you rather try to fabricate drama and keep me around to fuel the fire?

And yes, it is very rewarding. I choose this path because I genuinely want to make an impact and not just fuck around. Check it out at the cascade campus, and get John S. Gieber as your instructor. He's such an intellectual, and he cracks me the hell up to.

I obviously do believe it, I just found it very surprising. You are not banned because you obviously don't know (at least me) enough. You're analysis is pretty wrong too.

I treat the internet here the same as if I was actually holding a conversation in real life with any of the members here. I see no reason to act silly or post stupid stuff because "it's just teh internets lolol" because that shows two different people, one being obviously not real. I have not been able to meet you or know you in real life. All the contact I have with you is over this forum. Thus, when I see stupid stuff, your gender being female, etc; I can only judge you off of how you present yourself - which is this case is not very highly.
There is no "cool quota" and I am not one to even think about conspiring against anyone in the community here.

We're not trying to hold stuff against you, we're trying to get you to act NORMAL so we can get to know who the real you is, not some fake internet personality that has no existence in the real world. See the difference?

Edit: My post above was also to be slightly light hearted, but it could be easily taken very serious. zeppy, as I do not know you in real life, you may in fact end up being a very good counselor. I do not have anything against you other than the fake online persona you have, and you're probably a very nice person in real life.

Saying "you don't take the internet seriously" does not give you the permission to make stupid threads/posts, and keep trying to stay on ITGFreak after you were banned.  The fact of the matter is you have made posts that come off as immature, and people are going to remember those posts more clearly than the intelligent posts you make.  You have avoided this fact with every post, and unless you can defend why you made those posts, or why you rejoined ITGFreak several times after your first ban just to act stupid again, we are going to hold you to these actions.

As for banning you, I am not an admin, and don't have the power to do that.

I've known Matt for a few years, and I appreciate the "mature" contributions he's made to this forum. As for the "stupid" stuff... it was annoying to me before this forum was made, but from Matt's participation in PNWB today, I really think his good comments outweigh the ones that are seen as bad by you guys, but it's possible I haven't seen everything. It seems to me Matt is just trying to have a sense of humor and I don't think his jokes are always in bad taste/plain stupid. But I'm certain my sense of humor is pretty different from tada's/BLueSS's.

I think people need to lighten up a little bit, and Matt should cut it out with some "dumb" stuff (I guess doing very little of the "immature IM talk" that violates forum rules). Maybe I just don't understand. So just take it with a grain of salt or something. /2 cents

Mommy, am I allowed to post? Are you even thinking about what you type here?

This does have a conspiritial, "anti zeppy" feel to it. You can think what you please about me, but I really don't appreciate it when you are trying to start some big fight that no one really cares about. why don't you do this over aim? You really have to subject this whole community to your own form of meta-trolling? heh. I think the most coherent thoughts you have expressed have an immature tint to them but not the kind of immaturity you are reffering to.

You have avoided this fact with every post,
No i haven't and I can just ask why you avoid my rebuttals.

and unless you can defend why you made those posts,
in my eyes, I already have, so stop trying to reiterate the same thing over and over again. I'd like you to defend your personal attack on me if anything. Johnathan attacks my posting habits, not me as a person. You seem to have motivation to make me look bad.

Trolling, and who is "we"? The whole "coin" post I made was real, and that seemed to set off the ban. It's funny that you think EVERYONE is holding me to these ations, because you seem to think you have "the whole community behind you". I don't think most people care about this drama you're trying to start.

As I don't visit every thread I obviously miss every post made by people, but viewing Matt's post history, this posts have been for the majority, very good.

Matt: can we just get rid of those last few "dumb" things and try to start fresh?

Let's do that, and I'll work on my posting habits in order to endear myself better to the community (not being flippant, I mean it).

Thanks, Matt. :-) I hope your thoughts towards me have changed from what they were before too.

Just one more thing, if you would please edit your profile with the correct info, it would greatly be appreciated, not only for when the player database is finished but just because you are not a girl... online nor in real life.

And Tada, please calm down and lay off Matt. He's obviously got a brain and can use it very nicely. Let Matt have a start away from whatever was back at ITGFreak.

So far I have no probs with Matt or his (?) posts in this forum.  I know Tada as well as I know Matt, which is to say, not well, so at this point I'll keep an open mind; you both are free to shape it as you wish.

I'm really glad a resolution is coming out of this Cheesy I think we can all get along fine if we just make some compromises, keep our minds open, etc. The point of this forum/community is for all of us to have fun and enjoy it, right? Wink

I'm willing to start over if he's willing to ease up on the stereotypical internet-isms and fake online personality and make the intelligent posts I know he is capable of making.

I do not want this forum to turn into ITGFreak phase 2.  Arguments like this accomplish nothing, tear the community apart, and give a bad image of our community to outsiders.  Let's just work towards being one happy community, again.

Right now I don't know how plans are going on that, but anyhow, welcome!
