- ORIGINAL POST -
This thread had to start some time. Although I've seen exactly zero people post that didn't already talk to eachother already, the aim is to have more people show up, right? Yes.
About me.
name: James
age: too old
how to find me: I'm 5'9 and half asian. Like everybody else at ACME, but whatever
I show up at ACME bowl every now and then.
I like DDR more than ITG for the most part but give both equal playtime, and also I play a lot of IIDX at home, it's a great game.
I am what can be generalized as a "scorer." That is, I play to get the highest score possible on everything.
My tag is "5DAI" on ITG/IIDX or "GODAI" on DDR usually. Sometimes other names if I feel like it.
I am a pretty darn good simfile maker (as judged by me) but don't make a whole lot due to time constraints. I take requests but they don't get fulfilled a lot for the same reason.
Nice to meet you.

Hey welcome Sol about time you registered. I haven't seen you in forever. My name may not ring a bell but if you see me in person you'd remember me
Don't worry, I remember you Travis
. We met at Narrows about a year ago a few times.

@Sol: Nice to meet you. What's your intended major at the UW?
Mmm, math for now, but really no idea. Maybe business...

Sol: Which country did you enjoy the most that you've visited so far? Even though you went for the Go Tournaments did you try and find any poker games? That'd be some great experience, playing against people from other countries even if it was small cash. I love watching poker on tv or sneaking a few dollars to play online. I've daydreamed about going to the WSOP but $10,000.00 to get in the door for a field of 10,000.00 people doesn't seem realistic. It's grown over the years and maybe when it was 1,000-3,000 people but 10,000 people is crazy.
Probably Sweden. The people there are very nice (except for our "friend"/host, who forced us to sleep in his closet for our first night in Stockholm because supposedly his mother wouldn't allow us in his apartment..-_-.), and the Go community is growing. I also had a chance to play the #1 ranked player in Sweden, even-game, on board 1, so a lot of pictures taken and basically a game where I wanted to last more than 100 moves ^^;. Unfortunately, I didn't play anything past a few pounds for poker, I hope to someday travel though and enter the big-scene tournaments though, it is also my dream to attend the WSOP
.

Wow, haven't seen you in a while, sol (Last sakuracon maybe)
Yep, but I remember
. Hopefully I can see you at 07 sakuracon.

Holy crap, Solomon is back!
I did kind of wonder what happened when you disappeared on ITGFreak for a while.
Oh? I remember you as well, saw you a few times at ACME if I recall, the guy that was hella good on beatmania? ^^;

i remember eesha posting about it a while back on her lj, but at the time life was too plastered with busy things for me to take the time to join up. but recently i've shed some of the other internetting i had been doing (i think i've binged enough on alice chess) so i thought i'd try to go back to my roots since i've resparked some of my didder and iidx interest. since the eugene scene which used to be so prominent has pretty much died, these boards are a good way for me to stay connected.
feels like i slipped on an old jacket i haven't worn in a couple years, and it feels damned good. hope the feeling lasts.

slipping on an old jacket feels good?
I imagine it'd hurt. Okay, wait, nevermind. I totally thought you meant slipping on a jacket that was on the floor and falling... uh, wow
Ummm so, glad to hear that it's a nice feeling. xD I need to fix my ps2 at some point and maybe I'll start iidxin'.

Dude, there are things in the world other than DDR pads. Just 'cause I haven't put out any of those yet doesn't mean I haven't built shit. :/
Also, I did take apart and rebuild a couple tx1000's. I just haven't used them yet because the screws that came with are too pansy ass and I haven't had a chance to get new ones.

I don't pay attention to how much a bag of large tortillas with some cheap nacho cheese with some lumpy brown stuff costs at the grocery store. I just figure it costs around the same or more than 89 cents per "burrito".
I guess food has an excuse 'cause it's constant. You don't really have to build yourself a new computer desk or StepMania machine on a tri-daily basis. (at least I hope not!)

I love cooking. I'm thinking of being a professional chef.
I'm throwing a barbeque 2 weeks from now, will have grilled fish, kabob, hamburgers, 2 salads, and pies. I'll be making about half of it.
As for what I build, I've built my own DDR pads, and I have 6 arcade sticks I've either modified or built from scratch.
