- ORIGINAL POST -
Yo all, Tada and I felt we had hijaxed the "Do You Drink?" thread long enough, so here we are.
Here is the site of the place we're thinking of going:
www.sbkaraoke.com
It has prices, location, even English songlists for those of you not so into the j-poppin'. Please take a moment to look it over and then answer these questions:
1) Would you be interested?
2) When would be a good time to go for you?
Thanks!
-Chris

Ah, that wouldn't work-it's on the other side of Seattle =/
EDIT: Okay so no one else has responded so for now I'm going to list who seems liken they'd be interested:
BlueSS, AlphaConqerer, Tada, Laura, Michael, Freq, Lhet.
I think Phylicia and others are also interested, but they have yet to post in this thread so I won't count on them. So we have six, which is the magic number for the moment.
So the next step is to set up an actual day. We know it needs to be on a weekend, but this weekend and next weekend carries conflicts for peeps. Maybe we should wait until 3 weekends from now? Any thoughts on this?

The longer we wait, the closer I get to 20 credits worth of finals, so for me, I'd rather do this either really soon, or at the end of March. But if everyone else would prefer 3 weeks out, I could try and work with that.

It doesn't really matter that much to me whether we do this sooner or later. Finals don't play into this so much for me. The only day that is really barred in my mind is March 9th, the Friday right before my Japanese final (which is on Saturday [3/10] morning; that night would work fine). Also, I tentatively plan to hold BYOB 5 at my house on March 24th, but I can work around that.
EDIT: Oops, I calced the dates wrong.

Well I'm going to leave setting the date up to you guys then cuz I'm fine with anytime currently. Although it still seems to me like we don't have enough interested people who can go at the same time to make this happen at the moment.

Any Saturday in the near-future (except this coming one, and obviously 4/7) should work for me.
Okay, I'm going to toss out an actual date (instead of a preference) for consideration... How does 3/3 sound to everyone? Saying yes/no to a specific date will get us much further than just stating our preferences and/or restricted dates.

3/3 being 3 Saturdays from now?
Of course I'm down for that.
I actually was just marking down everyone's responses and 3/3 sounds best, as this weekend is bad for Laura, and next weekend is bad for Jon. This also gives Mike and Phylicia ample time to figure out a carpool or transit situation. Lhet hasn't responded since I pointed out to him that this place actually DOES have Chinese songs, but I assume he is still in. Freq hasn't mentioned any issues if it's on a weekend. Therefore, 3/3 should be the best date and if everyone plans ahead so far I count 8 people for it, which is the perfect number: Me, Tada, Laura, Jon, Lhet, Mike, Phylicia, and Freq.
Once again, I drive from East Kent so if anyone is in the path that wants to be carpool'd, let me know.
EDIT: Whoops, misread Lhet's edit; apparently weekends are bad for him unless it's a holiday due to his job. So I guess we have 7 for 3/3. If anyone else is thinking of coming 3/3, let us know!

Not that it matters much at this point, but this coming weekend is bad for more of us than just Laura:

3/3 should definitely work for me, though.

i should be able to make it, but i dont want to make any inconvenience by saying i could and end up not being able to. so you could keep me down as a maybe. although i'm going to try my best to make it because this sounds like too much fun to miss

Cool =D Well so far we have 3 confirmed, 1 maybe, 2 nos, Laura is still a plausible and so Phylicia we're waiting on. That would make it 6 unless Lhet appears and changes his mind. If there is anyone else who is interested please let us know by posting here! It's gonna be fun and you're gonna miss out =D

Haha, don't worry I'll back you up (if you don't mind) =D It's not a very difficult song overall; what you'll want to practice the most is the monologue in the middle, that goes by really fast.
To Laura and Phylicia: Hate to pressure you two but I was wondering if you both could give an affirmative, nay, or maybe sometime soon? Because right now we've only got 3 of us going (maybe 4, my housemate/guitarfreaks buddy may come along and you guys can meet him).

This is looking pretty hopeless so far... so backing me up would be good.
IIRC, they furiganize most kanji, so hopefully I can read fast enough if I get stuck.

Oh yes there is furigana, but that doesn't help if there's a lot in a short time period; familiarity can mean the difference =D
But still, I predict you'll do alright with it.

Yeah, sure, why not? I'm trying to drag ancsik-Tony along, too, since he and I have a standing Saturday thing where we hang out, but I can't confirm him for that since he's a retard.

I have no idea how to do that. I went to the Calendar, clicked on 3-3, marked the time and event type, but I didn't get any field to edit the calendar with so...

If you edit your original post, you should see a "calendar" option below the submit button.. I set it already, but see if you can see it/edit it.

Hmmm, I may not be looking in the right place; I assume you meant to edit my original/1st post in this topic, right? Well I went to edit but I didn't see any calendar option below the submit button, but that may be because you already edited it, Jon?

k; well we won't wait up for you then. Let us know if you figure something out.
So, cool people /100% going are:
Myself
Tada
Jon/BlueSS
Laura
Somewhat cool people/likely going are:
Tony
My housemate Pete
Mike
Bogus people/not likely going are:
phylicia
Freq
Lhet
People who haven't responded to this topic yet
I'd really like to bump that number of cool people up to 6 instead of 4, but maybe Jon prefers it at 4; it's better for his sense of economics... though, since we're going Sat. night I think the rate per person is the same whether we have 4 or 8 people...
Which strikes me; should I make a reservation? Or Tada could you do it (since you've gone before)?
