So some dudes had a lady to swoon over for V-day. Others did not. Many of us try to get a lady, but are met with "UR DOING IT WRONG!!" and "epic fail". Some words of wisdom from the lady-types would be much appreciated.

haha i'm not a lady, but just to let you know, everybody is different... not every girl is going to have the same likes and dislikes of a guy so asking advice from a girl is no more or less helpful than a guys advice.

as for me, i didnt have much of a valentines day, but then again i wasnt really looking either. what happened to me today though was when i was heading home on the bus, it was totally packed. this one lady was standing so i offered her my seat. so after i got off at my stop, waiting for my next bus home, this other girl comes up and starts talking to me and says how sweet that was to give up my seat like that and she gave me her number.

not much advice but i guess just try to be yourself (if you want a girl who likes you for who you are), don't try too hard... and you'll probably find someone when you least expect it.
oh and do a good deed or two, maybe a girl might notice it like what happened to me. good luck

If you feel like a million bucks, people will think so too. Confidence is the whole game. And eye contact. That's key.

Also don't run the show, but you do gotta have something to say. Also don't lie. Approach people you see around. strike up small talk. Small talk has become big talk, and it's definately key. Don't be all "how's the weather", but find out what makes them tick. Try to get around to hanging with them/ whatever and see if it'll actually a FEASIBLE relationship. This is hard to do. Once you have that down you go for the kill.

Confidence FTW!

I've slowly been building it up around places I go to, I'm at a decent point now (I'll be way better when I get to High School though). When it comes to relationships, I'd rather look for someone I can trust and who actually could care about a person, as opposed to wanting to get laid for no reason.

Call me a wuss, stupid or whatever, but I think I'll keep those values.

I have never dated yet, and don't regret it... I just accepted that I am entirely incapable of getting a girlfriend, much less maintaining a relationship, and moved on.

If confidence were the key, I would have had more than two girlfriends in the history of my life. ;P (I'm an egotist; I'm sure someone can vouch for me on that)

But confidence is important.  No girl wants to go out with Mr. ManicDepression unless he's got some MAJOR assets.

Also, there's a point where it's too much, but being able to be romantic and "sweet" now and then has greatly helped my love life.  It makes it so that you're way less likely to be dumped or rejected in a resentful manner when you are dumped or rejected, and it tends to strengthen existing relationships.

Sincerity is a great one too.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

My current girlfriend of 4 years and I got together after being good friends all of our freshman years in college.  So I guess in that case it was most important to know each other as friends first and then take it from there.  But I had to make the first move and display a lot of confidence and patience to get the relationship working; and I'll admit I haven't had any in-person girlfriends before my current one so I haven't "dated around" so to speak which sometimes makes me wonder (and made me wonder ALOT during the year and a half I maintained a long-distance relationship from Japan with her).  But in general, being myself and following my goals and morals hasn't led me astray with this woman, so.

LOL I just noticed no women have responded to this thread.

1. Remember, the amount of AAAs you have on DDR is relational to how many girlfriends you will have in the future.

2. The better you are at IIDX, the more girls will want to have sex with you.

CS> I'm the same way. I'd like to get laid, but that's not what I'm after. Relationships > Sex (though a little action is always nice, too!). Though middle school is way the f too soon to be sexing any ladies anyway.

It's kind of retarded. I can find girls that'll let me sleep in the same bed as them, cuddle, touch, whatever, but none that want to date me~. Sad I'm honestly a nice dude, which is probably my downfall. Too nice. :\ I've had one 4 rlz relationship, though. Nothing super awesome since.

Edit> LADIES, PLEASE!

Dang, and I suck at IIDX. =/

Does being good at DMania get anyone anything?

So more like "skinship?"  Maybe set a "you gotta date it if you want it," rule? =P  Or perhaps you're steering more innocent with the above statement.

I figure that by the time I'm old enough to be sexing up the lady-types, I'll be a IIDX god. Cool

And my girlfriend ...um, "doesn't care for" Bemani much.  But she likes video games and watching them (and loves Lumines) so I forgive her.

Oh actually it's Junior High, 9th Grade and the Puyallup school district is weird yadayadayada...

Anyways, I too like to be nice. Usually, if someone (either gender) asks me to help them with something, you know that I'll be helping. A simple, but always good, "I like your hair today" can warrant a smile+thank you from the womens, making them and myself feel better. Sorry if this is silly to anyone, knowing that I've never had a serious relationship.

No, that's true.  Simple compliments are great.  I love simple compliments because they show that someone is actually noticing me. So um, what I mean is that if that's for me, than imagine how the woman feels...ahem. Of course, make certain the comment is relevant...

Still no ladies hahahaha...
