So some dudes had a lady to swoon over for V-day. Others did not. Many of us try to get a lady, but are met with "UR DOING IT WRONG!!" and "epic fail". Some words of wisdom from the lady-types would be much appreciated.

pick-up line (not really for use... also people who find sexual humor offensive shouldn't read this):
"If I flip this coin, what are the chances of me getting head tonight?"

or.... "I bet you $20 you're gonna turn me down."
haha if that one doesn't work, you might get $20 out of that haha

anyways... pick-up lines suck. they might work on someone who has a sense of humor but you also might get slapped if you say it to the wrong person :\
compliments are usually a good way to start things out with but it's best to also add a reason to what it is you're complimenting them about
Yeah, random compliments make people think you're phony :/

Honestly, my favorite pick up line is and will always be (assuming it feels sincere),

"Hey, you're very pretty. Would you like to _____?" (Where ___ is "go out with me"/"have sex"/whatever else the guy actually wants to do, so long as it's phrased fairly politely... "would you like to insert a coke can into your vagina while I film it" isn't really appropriate here, although if someone said that as a joke I'd pretty much definitely laugh.)

I don't see how anybody could be offended by that. This person was just super up front with you, and that takes GUTS. Regardless of whether or not I'm interested in the person in question, I REALLY appreciate that sort of bluntness. I also think that smart wordplay is great, so if someone was able to formulate a witty cheesy line, I'd probably keep talking to them.

Yeah, it was kind of awkward telling a girl, "I like your gloves" XD.

There's usually always a good reason to tell them you like their hair though. It's one of the better compliments that makes people feel good about themselves.

Seconded Laura's remark.

Witty wordplay in pick-up lines can be entertaining, but I've never known anyone who did it well. Tongue

@ Phylicia's comment a couple pages back regarding the high (rhythm gaming) standards of this community:
I'm here to lower those standards and make us more n00b-friendly! ;P

On topic, I try to go for a smooth but straightforward approach.  I flirt a lot just to be social, and i try to do it by making myself come of as a polite, outgoing sort of guy who's not afraid of flattery.

Hay, here's a question RE: the behaviors of ladies. What do you suppose it means if a girl shows you here undergarments...

while she's wearing them? :X

Not enough context to answer question.

Namely what do you know about this girl, and what is your social history with her.

We're friends, she has a boyfriend, we were a little inebriated, she's kind of crazy sometimes, and very cuddly.

Quote from: "manyminimoos"
Also if she's hot, you're lucky no matter what it may or may not mean. edit pix plz

Smiley Smiley Smiley No pictures, though.

Alcohol always makes people do funny things. She was probably just in a flirty mood.

I was thinking the same thing, but at the same time it didn't seem that out of character, which is what got me mixed up in the first place.

I wouldn't touch it.  Looking is okay (encouraged!), and if you are into casual relations, let things take off.  I would not even think of pursuing anything remotely serious thoguh.

Haha, oh hell no. That girl is insane. I wouldn't want a relationship with her. Tongue

But the question is, would you tap that?

I'm just kidding though, it seems that was a "I'm drunk and doing something I probably wouldn't" type of thing

I went to the Mall today, and saw some girls from my school, and hung out with them. It seemed WAY easier in that environment, as opposed to school.

Malls are a much easier place to chill with the ladies than schools, because girls aren't focusing on the people they're with at the mall, they're focusing on shopping. (unless they got the hots for you)

Also, don't take that as sexism, all you lady-types; I'm just saying that people go to the mall, for the most part, to shop, so they'd have more attention on that and less attention on people, unless they find said people more interesting than said shopping.

Yeah, but those are usually the high school girls, with their raging hormones.

For the sake of not wanting to leave this important question unanswered, I go for Canadian girls.  They're hormones don't count because the internet speeds in North America aren't fast enough for proper transfer rates.

btw, I'm actually 47.  I look like this.  It's a wig.
