That's right. In The Groove 2 EXISTS in Japan. 1 machine, that I think is a hacked cab running openITG.
So......who wants to go visit and obliterate the scores eh?

WTF is all that stuff on and around the machine? It looks like a Hello Kitty doll or something on top of the machine? And what's with all the poster boards around the machine...is it from a tournament roster or perhaps it's a "who plays next" board?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's in other arcades but they certainly aren't dumb enough to allow vids. This place will probably get their E-Amuse service turned off  :/

no bemani, no eamuse. this arcade (world game circus) specializes in import games, so they don't compete with any konami products.

I was just surprised to see it existed in Japan, because I heard there is this thing with Japanese arcades that they don't like to import foreign games unless it gets a localized version there. I guess that must be major arcades.

Oh well. If I ever visit Japan, I'm definitely hittinh this place up.

I wonder if Yasu and Take play, their scores would be so ridiculous

Yeah, since this is probably the only ITG machine Japan I doubt there are a lot of top tier players.
Who knows this might not be the ONLY one, but I won't be surprised if it is.

I know for a fact that there was one on Yokota Air Force Base a couple of years ago, although I don't think that US soil really counts... Tongue

There was a thread awhile (read: couple years) back on AIJ wherein Taren sent ITG PS2 to Yasu.  Yasu saw the potential in harder charts, but definitely couldn't keep up without practice, which was obviously a little hard to get (he actually had to play on a soft pad at a friends house to test the game out, since he only played in the arcade at that point).  Someone in the thread mentioned Yasu not really liking PSMO because it moved the game too much in the stamina direction.  No idea on the validity of that last part and no idea as to Take's opinions; just throwing out things I've heard.
