My one singular summer plan has been completely ruined, despite the fact that I already paid for it back in March.

Fuck summer.

I've seen this thread on four forums now. And I've always answered the same thing:

SEX.

In addition:

concerts
DDR/ITG (last summer I got like 25 AAA's, maybe I can get 50 this summer? that's a good goal)
writing/get published
job Sad
get ready for college Sad
read
SEX
concerts
SEX

And that's just good enough for me.

- Summer Quarter at UW (starting June 18)
- Going to Japan immediately afterward. :)
- Mayhaps a part-time job, if I'm feeling masochistic.
- Apartment hunting (hope to get one starting in September or October)

EDIT: Curse whoever made 8) make a smiley.

You know, once you enter the workforce, summer is no different than any other time of year. So, uh yeah... working... only when I look out the window in front of my desk, I see SUN. Wink

I'm just wrapping up finals week here at Portland State University (mainly the reason I've been idle in these forums for a while, though I still get plenty of DDR in at home) I've been taking four classes this trimester:

*

* English 300: Critical Appreciation to Literary Theory
* English 308U: Literature of Genocide
* English 458: Advanced Topics of Romanticism
* Spanish 201

*

After my last final on Thursday for English 458, here's just some things I'll be doing and/or would like to do this summer (though I kind of go with the flow and seek opportunities as they come)

*

1) Caregiving locally
2) Catch up on "The Office" via Netflix (hopefully "My Name is Earl" too)
3) Develop fluency on the arcade version of DDR (I've gotten many AA's on the Standard level and even am picking up some on the Heavy level on the home version, but I haven't developed my arcade game yet and want to do so as I get more financially comfortable)
4) Write and record new novelty songs, including a "Christmas in July" series and a special novelty song for my cousins in Chicago, who are enduring a once-every 17 years cicada invasion this year titled "Zenaida the Magicicada".
5) Volunteer through multiple aims to raise awareness on the Darfur genocide.
6) Meet a girl through serendipity and enjoy my first date
7) Will co-anchor the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival during the 4th of July weekend for the third consecutive year on KBOO Community Radio (blues music actually isn't one of my favorite genres, as I prefer power-pop, rock and roll and Latin sounds, but I have a deep respect and appreciation for the culture and history behind the blues)
Cool Enjoy a long day's hike through the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area.
9) Go to the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Building Festival.
10) Finish "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows"
11) Restore contact with at least two friends from Colorado who I've been struggling to get back in touch with.
12) Learn to dance basic samba.

*

And, of course, I hope we can squeeze in multiple new DDR get-togethers this summer (unfortunately I can't make the forthcoming one on Saturday, as I'll be heading off to the beach with my family for the weekend) Smiley

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

I'm supposed to have every Harry Potter book read fully within 4 days of it's release. Sad

It doesn't come out until July, 40-something days from now, actually, so you're good, I think.
