4: Took place at the epic D2SSR: Dyaus Darknote Super Sightread Extravaganza, a tournament on Dyaus's stepmania machine, playing stepfiles that had been kept secret from the public until we had to play them. Oregon's only big tournament in 2006, people came from Cali, Utah and Washington, I believe.

Tottori is awesome =D

Like I've said a few times now, I lived in Okayama, Japan, which is in Okayama Prefecture, which actually happens to be connected to Tottori Prefecture.

Tottori is a bit sparse in population, true; but let me tell you, being on the Sea of Japan side of Japan, it has clear blue-water beaches and incredibly pleasant summers there =D it's a hidden gem. The sushi is also incredibly fresh, tasty, and cheap. And the coastline is dotted with tranquil wind power plants and great views. There's even a desert in Tottori (well it's advertised as Japan's only desert but really it's just some huge sand dunes; they do have camels you can ride there though). Of course, I bet during late winter it's horrible there weather-wise, with high winds and whatnot. But spring-fall is really nice.

Oh, they have lots of hot springs around that area too =D nothing like bathing with other naked men!

Their local dialect is pretty funny too =D of course, it's similar to Okayaman dialect, which I kind of speak, and thus that makes me sound like a Japanese yokel, but...

Yeah my JP teacher is from Tottori...I would hate to be ridiculed in 5 years should I ever happen to go to Japan.

? You won't get ridiculed =P Actually most people think Tottori-ben (Tottori-dialect) is cute. Besides, your Japanese teach is probably/should be teaching you standard (ie Kanto-ben) Japanese. But seriously, Tottori-ben or Okayama-ben are in no ways inferior.
