In the year 2012, Tokyo is suddenly attacked by a mysterious organization called "MU".

At that time Ayato Kamina is just a regular high school student. His father passed away when he was young, and his mother works for the government. Ayato meets a mysterious woman named Reika Mishima and discovers the existence of the angel-winged giant robot, Rahxephon. Apparently Rahxephon synchronized with Ayato. So could he be the key to save Japan?

This anime rocks if you like Action, Mecha, Romance, and SciFi anime.  Seriously... if you like Evagelion then you will love this anime

i made this thread because this is one of my favorite anime series next to Haibane Renmei

I liked the opening song to this, but I quickly saw the similarities to Evangelion and, I have to admit, I did not like Evangelion all that much (gasp) and though I do want to watch it still because I hate to compare one anime to another if I haven't finished it, I just got wrapped up in other things.

I'll put this on my list of things to try and catch up with.

it is really good... i watched the entire series in one sitting... i was amazed

I'm always inexorably drawn towards harem-anime and cute girls stuff.  I started with Love Hina and just can't get away...>_<;;; my proudest achievements in getting away have been in my love of Galaxy Express, Captain Harlock, and Irresponsible Captain Tylor.

This should probably be renamed to "Anime recommendations"

I'm a big fan of the high school comedy types...school rumble, ouran high school host club, etc.
