So does anyone here go to raves? Anyone want to go to a rave? There's some killer ones coming up. Smiley

Two parties I'm going to are Kandyland 3 and Pirates of the Puget Sound. Not sure what ones I'm doing between the two.

Just wondering (since I've never been to one), is it at all possible to enjoy a rave without taking e and waving glowsticks around?

My brother went to one. It's perfectly fine to not take drugs, or even drink.
However, you're gonna have to have glowsticks...That's just part of it.

well ive never been to one so i really do not know.  I will not take any kind of drug and glow sticks are pretty much gay.

I would like to go to one just for the music

Being around a ton of people on E would NOT be that fun for me, even if I wasn't forced to take it.

Yeah, hahahaha... seconded, Tada. I have no problem being around E by itself (I'm not going to take it, but it being there doesn't bother me that much) but PEOPLE ON E TERRIFY ME. I think I'm scarred for life because of all of the ravers at Narrows who have given me random hugs. I really don't like it when people I don't know touch me. Tongue

I've been going for over a year now and I've never done drugs. I think that once you start taking them you start to think the only way to have fun is do be rolling. It's retarded. Glowsticks are only fun because they leave light trails in the dark. Neither is required for having a good time. Glowsticks are also being replaced with LEDs. Brighter, longer lasting, and easier to hold.
Also, etards arn't that scary. They like hugs (as do most people at raves), but they generally don't touch you without permission. Tongue

So then if you don't do lights/drugs it would be just standing around listening to music that's probably hecka loud and trying to stay away from the etards?

No, you can still dance, and you don't have to "stay away" from the etards. They'll be all around you, but it's not much of an issue. Everyone on the floor is dancing. The music is loud, too, but I just wear ear plugs and everything is fine. I can hear the music perfectly, and I don't have tinnitus when I leave. Smiley

(Yuck!)

DEAR GOD.  That is nas-tay.  It made me want to vomit out all my intestines and feed them to Zach's dog.  My chances of ever going to a rave have just hit the negative percentages.

EDIT: Eww^2.

Maybe we could all have an e-free rave. Grin
I've got Ecstasy on my compy; we could listen to it.

Seriously, I would so totally bring my amp and my lappy and "DJ". xD
More accurately, go to all my trance/techno/eurobeat and hit shuffle.

I'm not much of a drug fan.  I don't have anything against pot used responsibly, but anything else (including too much pot) just makes people really stupid and annoying.

But yeah, if you guys are interested, I could probably work it out.  I'd probably need at least 20 interested people.
Might even bring my StepMania machine, if it's finished at the time and I can get it to the location. Smiley

um.... lol?
That's not rave music. I'd more likely listen to flashbulb chilling out on my couch; it's the kind of music you'd go to sleep to, or just zone. IDM isn't danceable, but I wouldn't mind seeing flashbulb live. When/where will this be?

Only rave I've ever been to was one in Japan, and though there were some people on something or other, the vast majority were maybe at worst just smoking or drinking.  In any case, I was doing neither, and it was still a rather fun experience.  I'd certainly be up for it again, though I get the feeling American raves are quite a bit different from Japanese ones in terms of safety issues and what not, but then that's largely uninformed stereotyping coming from me.
