i tried this somewhere else, it ended up being fun for a little while.

concept:

ask a question.  one person at random answers the question and then asks another question.  another person answers that question and asks another question.  etcetera.

retroactive question answering is discouraged.  snooze you lose.

seirous or not serious questions or answers.  doesn't matter.  generally people chose non serious questions.

if someone answers at the same time that someone else answers and thus there are two replies, that's okay.  adds to the chaos and the loose structure, and that's a good thing.

back and forth between two people only is okay but not as fun.  give other people a chance.

whoever posts the 573rd answer and question gets a prize.

Q: What's the last thing you said out loud to someone?

how do you mean, like winning something by chance, or in a comp. either way I have both
Comp: Wond a DDR superNOVa tourney here in Spokane and receive some ult. day passes to bumpers and a 3rd mix marquee (which is hanging in my rom where I play teh didderz and is totally BADASS!)
Chance: My church does a summer camp every year, and you get a good deal if you sign up early, so my youth pastor did a drawing for all the pplz that singed up early, and the winner got a 2GB iPod nano. I happened to be out of town for the two weeks that this was being announced, so I didn't even know I won until the next sunday at church when the youth pastor came up to me to tell me. that was pretty badass.

Chairs or stools? why?

Chairs. Stools tip over too easy.

(Not using dictionary definitions) Is a beach a beach if it's not on an ocean? (Like, would a little 'sand' stretch on a lake be considered a beach?

A: So you mean "would you consider..."?  Yes, I consider sandy lakeshores "beaches" as well, but the lake should be a decent size

Q: So what do you think of the I-35W collapse in Minneapolis?  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, turn on a news channel.

Glad you reminded me about that; I saw the headline flash on BBCNews at work but at the time there was no article for it...anyhow, I was shocked...I don't know anyone in Minneapolis so I don't have a particular sense of dread, but I am sorry for the people involved.

Since we're on news; what do you all think of the recent major loss of the LDP of several seats in the upper house of the Japanese Diet?

Wait, Japan has other parties with members?

Whose idea was it to have an extremely conservative political party called the Liberal Democratic Party?

Red states aren't the smartest states.  In fact, in a chart I saw correlating which candidate each state voted for and their average IQ, it was almost solid blue at the top and almost solid red at the bottom.  So you gotta give them a little leeway on stuff like this.

A: yes

Q: given that, why are you browsing the boards?  if you're on vacation in dreamland, you should be on vacation in dreamland and forget the internet.  that's what i did for 10 days.  this is not intended as an attack but really a genuine wonder at what you're doing.
Qnottada: do you regularly browse forums and stuff while on a vacation?

Since I'm the only one who can answer this, sure, I went on the internet, but it's not like I was spending much time, or even a significant amount of time at all on my computer.  I basically checked my UW email account to see if I got into the CS department, went to PNWBemani briefly, and C+Ped my vacation journal into my LJ (Which I only wrote right before I went to bed, and I was too dead tired to do much else).  No Wikipedia, Uncyclopedia, chans, or any of the other sites I frequent.  The only other site I went to was GameFAQs, to read reviews on games I was contemplating buying in Akihabara.  Probably spent no more than 20 minutes on the internet in any given day, and not even every day.

Did you ever expect that James would refer to Japan as dreamland?

Am I allowed to answer this?  It's not that I normally call it dreamland, but from experience (and you fit this generalization to some extent), bemani players tend to include a lot of "japanophiles" that like Japan and want to go there and think it's a magical place.  That's why I called it that.  It's some place you were longing to visit, no?  That was the meaning.
Anyway yeah that's the extent the internet oughta be used on some random vacation.  I hate it when people sit there for times measurable in hours chatting or browsing LJ or whatnot.  Enjoy yourself.

Soooo question: DO YOU LIKE SUSHI (the raw fish stuff, basically.. i'm not asking if you enjoy eating avocado rolls all day)

A: Depends on what's on it.  I've found some that I like, and some that I don't.  For the most part, I don't like it, but some of it is pretty good.

Q: Do you ever swim on the Pacific Northwest coast?  If so, where?

For da inlanders:
Q: Do you ever swim in lakes/rivers?  What ones?

Nope... the only swimming I do is in pools.

For the record, I've been wanting to go to Japan long before I started playing Bemani.

Do you think I'm a "japanophile"?  (Anyone can answer)

Probably. I really have no idea, but you have a Japanese dude as your avatar and play Bemani so chances are good. I know I'm a weeaboo, I came to terms with this years ago.

Has there ever been a period of time where you surfed 4chan regularly?

tada

Yeah, but I hardly ever go to it anymore.  I prefer 2chan and gurochan.

Also, I found a (more accurate) chart of election votes and IQs: http://sq.4mg.com/IQpolitics.htm.  Not as solid blue at the top as the hoax, but almost pure red at the bottom.  I only wish the chart wasn't blue/red, but showed how purely the state voted for their candidate (i.e. some shade of purple if it was nearly a tie).

Do you think I'm a terrible person for going to gurochan?

Yes. In fact, even if you hadn't asked that question, I would've said "you're the antichrist for going to gurochan."

What is the appeal of guro exactly? Sadism and masochism I understand to some extent, but out-and-out mutilation eludes me...

For me personally, it's sadism, and probably a larger than normal shit-list.

Have you ever been really hungry, but too lazy to get up and get something to eat?  (Me right now.)

Guro-chan?  No thanks.  I do go to 2 chan though.  I assumed you were actually Asian, so I guess that would make you a japanophile.

I don't publish anything I write, and I don't write enough to consider publishing it, mainly because it's just not something I do muhc naymore.  THe internet ruined my creative process I guess.

Q: Do you think the internets stifles creative processes such as poetry?

tada
Read August 02, 2007, 06:23:45 PM #516

Yeah, I think it destroyed what's left of my creativity.  But then again, I never had much of a creative side to begin with.  I do think it has helped the more logical side of my brain, and I'll take that, since the cost was so little to me. Tongue

Are you left-brained or right-brained, or balanced/nearly balanced?

A consistent display of reasonable logic and behavior.

A: I don't.  I'm more into RO and D2.  But yes, other people here play WoW. (literal answer wtf)

Q: Are there any games with over 5 releases/expansions that you've played through every version of?  For me, I come close with Warlords.  I've played Warlords, Warlords III: Reign of Heroes, Warlords III: Darklords Rising, Warlords Battlecry, Warlords Battlecry 2, and Warlords Battlecry 3.
The only games in the series I haven't played at all are Warlords II and Warlords IV.

I have played through all five games of the Super Bomberman series.  I have played every main series FF, but haven't beaten all of them.  Obviously, I have come close with many Bemani series.    The only IIDXs I haven't played AC or CS are 1st, substream, 2nd, and DD.

Do you plan on moving anywhere else in the near future?

Insomnia.  At least you have control over yourself.  Well, more than you do with sleepwalking.
