- ORIGINAL POST -
i tried this somewhere else, it ended up being fun for a little while.
concept:
ask a question. one person at random answers the question and then asks another question. another person answers that question and asks another question. etcetera.
retroactive question answering is discouraged. snooze you lose.
seirous or not serious questions or answers. doesn't matter. generally people chose non serious questions.
if someone answers at the same time that someone else answers and thus there are two replies, that's okay. adds to the chaos and the loose structure, and that's a good thing.
back and forth between two people only is okay but not as fun. give other people a chance.
whoever posts the 573rd answer and question gets a prize.

Q: Do you play an instrument? Did playing an instrument get you into rhythm games or vise versa?

Q: Why is that a lot of people that are impressively good at IIDX and have very acute rhythm skills (such as many of the users on this site) are not skilled on finger-based instruments?

A: I'd 'guess 'cause they haven't really tried them? I'm a fairly good pianist and an even better mallet player (Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone), but I'm not that great at IIDX. (barely starting to finish 6's with 30%+)
Q: What do you do with pennies you find?

A: stick them in my "coin drum."
and A: i could get into a big dissertation comparing iidx to piano/percussion/wind/etc. instruments, but it would take a long time and i've had a long day. maybe a different time, though.
Q: what do you think is your strongest and weakest character trait?

A: Strongest - Tell me I can't do it and I will; or honesty
Weakest - Too blunt when confronting people; too honest
Q: Have you played the awesome game known as Settlers of Catan? (I'm addicted now)

A: I PLAYED THE ORIGINAL ONE WITH SQUARES FOO'! (I want to get into the new version, but haven't had the chance)
seriously, I will money match people with Oldschool Settlers of Catan.
Q: Don't you hate it when one of your favourite games is modified and the huge collection of figures/cards/books/whatever you have for it suddenly becomes obsolete?

Yes. I absolutely loathe nerfing in MMOs. Never had this done with a pencil and paper game, but the concept is very much the same.
Do you think it's fair to allow MMOs to be patched (other than to resolve technical issues)?

A: No. The only reason MMO's should be patched is to:
1. Extend the explorable area.
2. Add tougher enemies for high-level players
3. Add new, non-crucial items to the game.
4. Improve the optimal graphics of the game (the old graphics interface should remain optional so that people running on minimum requirements can still play)
5. Resolve technical issues
6. Add new advanced-level classes.
Q: What interactive multiplayer role-playing games do you play, if any? (tabletops, MMO's, et cetera)

A: WoW, but that shouldn't surprise anyone here. Rogue and hunter if you are wondering.

Q: do you find MMOs to be self destructive?
Tyrgannus

#239
A: I find that they have the ability to be self-destructive without the requirement of destroying oneself. In other words, MMO's tend to attract people who are very obsessive and thus waste away while only paying attention to that game. It doesn't mean that anyone who plays D&D or WoW or whatever is going to play it 12 hours a day, neglect their social lives, and stop eating, but MMO's have ben known to do that if played by the right or wrong person depending on how you look at it.

A: these days i fall asleep almost every day to a futurama episode except for "time keeps on slippin", "bending in the wind", "jurassic bark", and "the 30% iron chef."
MY GOD
ok i never thought i would post here again but this warrants my attention.
i sometimes fall asleep to futurama too! though what do you have against all of those (minus jurassic bark)? i can see time keeps on slippin i guess, just because the end is kind of sad... but the other two?
ok & contribution
A: i am reading tales from the underground, a collection of the best alternative press stories :9 also my science magzzz

A to tada: absoluitely.
A to amberamberamber!: i find jurassic bark pretty sad too. i love the episode, but it's not one that i can put on the background falling asleep. Bending In the Wind - i think it's just not a sleep episode because of how sporadic the music is and distracting it is for sleep. i usually don't pick "the devil's hands are idle playthings" or the last episode with Leela's opera thing either. The 30% iron chef is simply because i don't have that episode on my compy. there's maybe four eps i'm missing if you don't count the first season wihch i have on DVD so i don't have it duplicated on my compy.
glad to get you out of the woodwork, amber.

router plate papers
wireless mouse receiver, mouse as well, mouse pad
desk
pc to the left
cables
place mat
That's about it.
When you play music games, do you have a hard time staring at the screen for the whole song? I have TS, and have problems with twitching and shaking my head and spazzing out while playing IIDX and stuff.

A. It depends on my physical condition that day, but if I have too much caffeine or I'm really tired, I have a hard time staring at the TV playing IIDX. Twitching, shaking my head in order to get my eyes to focus (lately my eyesight is going downhill fast), etc.
Q. Right now I'm trying to study a year of calculus and a year of physics in about 10 days (I have 2 left). Am I crazy or what!!??? Seriously do you think I'm crazy?

A: I knew you were crazy already, and honestly, if you think you can handle it and you WANT to do it, then no, I don't think you're crazy for wanting to do that. The definition of insanity is doing something that you don't want to do and/or know you don't have to, so as long as that's not the case I assume it to be perfectly sane.
Q: I'm going to study literature in college. Will I have a future?
