Anyone know what the status of the arcade will be like?  Which versions of bemani may be there?  Also, is it freeplay?  I would mind going down for some 12hour sessions of GuitarFreaks ^^

I have no idea if there will be any arcade games. Pretty unlikely for GF. Jon, the Gaming manager is working on getting dance games at the con or something, last I heard. I'm really not sure, hopefully Jon will inform us soon. ^ ^;

AND YES, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN FREEPLAY

There will be some CS bemani, possibly a multitude of ASCs if Met is feeling nice.

So it looks like I'm hosting a Pop'n CS tournament.  I'm not sure if I want to run both a IIDX one and Pop'n... so if anyone else is interested in running the IIDX one, that would be cool. I  would probably help out with it still.

I would most likely be able to do this, as there probably won't really be many people competing... But if anyone else would like to, feel free.


Yeah, this year has been a weird one for us; the arcade that we usually get to rent us bemani actually shut down with little notice only a few months ago, leaving us to try and look for decent bemani (or any other arcade games, for that matter,) to rent. We really never found any major distributors that would be interested, but only a few private parties that still are unconfirmed. We're trying to make the best of a really bad situation, trust me.

i am interested in the popn tourny.  If Davyn and Mike dont show up i just might place 1st or 2nd

By the way, guys, the tournaments and stuff will NOT be held in public convention space, so you'll have to buy a badge if you want to enter. Pre-reg ends on the 28th if you're considering this, otherwise you'll have to pay full price at the door. (and wait in the huge-ass line)

Hold on, don't prereg yet. Keep trying to get a hold of him, and if you're able to, get to the meeting on the 25th. I'm sure if you see him in person, he'll be glad to let you staff. I'll also try to contact him for you... he hasn't been online all that much lately, though.

I'll be at Sakuracon.  Was supposed to be doing standup with a friend but he's moving back to Florida before then so I got screwed out of that. =(

I'd like to bring my Blueshark to this but considering my roommate's car will be full of people I don't think I can transport it.  However, I have an Ignition 3.0 that could fit in the trunk no problem, as well as a PS2 w/ HDLoader full of DDR games, plus a hacked ITG1PS2 with DDRs 1-8 and various home version mixes on it.
