So, who is all going this year?  I plan on having another IIDX tournament and will probably bring my Pop'n ASC this year for some Carnival action.  Pete (Kid Whatever) is DJing at the Saturday night dance, which should be awesome.  Other then that, I don't know much about the activities.

I'd like to bring my Blueshark
Find a way!  I won't be there myself, unfortunately, but a BlueShark is always a good thing to have when playing DDR.

I'll be at Sakuracon.  Was supposed to be doing standup with a friend but he's moving back to Florida before then so I got screwed out of that. =(

I'd like to bring my Blueshark to this but considering my roommate's car will be full of people I don't think I can transport it.  However, I have an Ignition 3.0 that could fit in the trunk no problem, as well as a PS2 w/ HDLoader full of DDR games, plus a hacked ITG1PS2 with DDRs 1-8 and various home version mixes on it.

Please leave those systems behind, as Hard copies of games are required to be played at Con. And before you start asking who I am, I'm te Gaming manager for the con. I'm allowing games only if the region protection isn't being circumvented.

Makes sense from a legal standpoint.  You'd have a big organization hosting a big event and using modded equipment allowing the possibility of pirated games (allowing for the possibilty of Konami suing) rather than fully legit consoles/games which no company could really dispute.  Sakuracon's management goes overboard to protect against every little liability, because they actually can get sued or lose the backing of sponsors for a lot of stuff (you can't mention torrents on the SC forums without getting wordfiltered since US companies aren't big fans of fansubbing, IIRC).  Plus it's not like they can't easily get their hands on legit PS2's, a lot of us opted to pick up a legit JPS2/games rather than mod and buy or pirate depending on mood.

Sucks to not have the convenience of an HDLoader (2005 had IIDX on HD with an ASC), but it's completely understandable given the size of the con.

I have hard legit copies of all my iidx/pop'n music games, hopefully it'll be okay to bring them and use my fliptop.

I have a complete hard-copy IIDX collection (sans BMUS).  Maybe all of us could bring 2-3 of them, since I'd feel really paranoid about bringing them all.

Sakuracon covers replacement of anything stolen/damaged, so 9th and newer are completely safe since they're easy to find; I don't know about 8th's rarity, but 7th and older would be best to divide across a few people to minimize potential losses (since they're so hard to replace at this point) or not bring at all.  Nothing happened last year and we didn't even have a real staff member to watch over the stuff (we had me most of the time, and before DMN got me a staff badge, I wouldn't have been able to do much if something had gone wrong), so this year is likely to not have problems either, but it's up to those of us who are bringing our games.

Spare memory cards are good to (I have one), so that we can merge all the save files on to one card that stays in a single console and doesn't overwrite anyone's actual file, for those who want their high scores to be their own scores when they get back home.  Also, disabling auto-save and per-song speed mods (I use them, I don't know about everyone else) helps with load times and accessibility for new players respectively.

For reference, I have IIDX 4th, 7th, and 9th-12th as well as Jerrad's copy of 6th that I keep not giving back to him.

Perhaps we should only bring 9th-12th.  That gives enough variety, and those will all look nice and prettyful to new players.  3rd-5th are just really ugly IMO, and 6th-8th are tolerable.  Although only a minor thing, graphics might make the difference between attracting and repelling someone from the game.

Yeah, I'd like to start an official list of the Bemani that we will have available for checkout soon. I'm still not sure as to if we'll be able to have a 24-hour bemani area where the arcade would've been, but I'm really hoping to have at least something going that long. Of course, there would be staff on hand at all times, and your belongings would be safe, but I still need word back from Jon regarding the staff's thoughts about this. Though I may actually get some sleep this year if this ends up not happening.

Because you're probably all wondering, I'll get it out of my closet and get pics of it soon; it's awesome.

Define Fliptop.

Fliptop and swapmagic, allows you to run imported games.

If you're not allowing that, it's kind of rediculous. We're lucky that some people have JPS2s.
