The Bemani Trivia Game - Any Bemani game, DDR or otherwise.

Try to answer the trivia, using any means possible.

If you answer the trivia correctly (and show proof if it requires it) then you ask a new question.

The questions can be hard, easy, whatever - but they must be directly related to a Bemani video game, or something within those games. If a question goes unanswered for a week, I'll scratch it and someone can post a new one.

Oh shit. I didn't know that one at all.

Alright, here's an obscure one that I'll let you look up if you need to. In the King of the Hill episode "Returning Japanese," one of the songs Bobby plays on the Dance Dance Revolution parody (Dance Party) ended up in an arcade mix of DDR. Which one is it?

Haha I watched the clip, that's a pretty amazing representation of DDR for a TV show.  By pretty accurate I mean damn near perfect.  But I won't answer the question because other people who spend less time on the internet should win.

edit: the answer SHOULD be Baby Got Back though.

The only clip I remember from TV is the Family Guy one where Bill Clinton dances to Barbie Girl.

The representation of the game itself: yes, perfect.
The representation of the way anyone plays it: pretty bad.

And James just gave you guys a huge hint. There are four songs in the episode and Baby Got Back is one of them, though it's not the right answer.

I just watched the episode today, the song is not That's the Way I Like It.

Baby Got Back was a lot closer, haha.

I'm pretty sure I saw Bobby and that Asian girl or whatever the fuck she is play that song on some episode if it's not the same.

Must be in a different episode. Min's daughter isn't in that one, assuming that's whom you're referring to.

Another hint: it was in a post-Extreme arcade release.

You're thinking of "Hammer Time", but "That's the Way I Like It" was earlier in the episode...

I'm gonna let The Darkness take this one, 'cause I don't want to think of something at the moment.

Oh. So someone does play the song in that episode, but not Bobby.

And just to be a dick, "Hammer Time" is not the name of the song I'm talking about, so the question is still open.

I see what you did there. The song ISN'T "Hammer Time," although that is a well known lyric. The song is called "Can't Touch This." <3

Can't touch this is in DDR?  Sign me the fuck up to play that release, now.  That's almost as good as Baby Got Back, which I'm totally making a simfile to now.  SORRY ETHAN THEY DONT HAVE IN THE GROOVES IN JAPAN

It's on X. At least, it's definitely on the US home release of X.

As an aside, Tony and I have agreed that the only context in which a gimmicky stop works is when it's followed by hammer time. Cheesy

Okay. A few things. The song is on X, and yes it uses the stop gimmick. James you should really just come to Japan and destroy the game entirely. Also there's a Baby Got Back sim that's really weird but I can link you to it if you want. And there IS ITG in Tokyo!

Lastly, just a trifle but NO ONE HAS GOTTEN THE NAME RIGHT YET. COME ON PEOPLE.

I guess it's "U Can't Touch This." I have been doing it wrong for years!

Ethan, I'll settle for SN2 at acme for now :>
Maybe if I go to GW on time card night I'll play some X and get some AAAs.  I really, REALLY want to play the paranoia/max song X-edit double charts...

Hahahaha, THANK YOU LAURA, please take the next question. Good job.

Oh shit James, I totally forgot about all the new shit on double. Maybe some good charts? The only one I've played was A Geisha's Dream and it suuucked.

Just would like to say that yes, there is in fact an ITG2 machine in Japan. A hacked one at that. I think it's an upgraded cabinet too. I saw a youtube video one time. It's in a SUPER small arcade.

All right, this thread IS the "Bemani" trivia game, so I'm going to test your non-DDR Bemani knowledge.

Name three songs that are in at least four Bemani games that aren't DDR. (This means that they can be in DDR, or they can not be in DDR - I don't care, as long as they're in at least four other Bemani games.) Different cuts of the same song is okay, a totally different version is not (as an example, if one game had Dragostea Din Tei and one had the English version, these would be different songs.)

Edit: Also, since you might come up with answers I didn't please tell me WHAT games so I can confirm your correctness. Tongue

Is DM/GF two games or one?
Is BM/BMIIDX two different games?

Regardless, The Least 100 Seconds is in GF/DM, BM/BMIIDX, Popn Music, AND KBM.
Uh, I think Mobo Moga is in BMIIDX, Popn Music, GF/DM, and Dance Maniax
I think Broken My Heart is in BMIIDX, Dance Maniax, Para Para Paradise, and Popn (in DDR Megamix)

If BM/BMIIDX is different, then

Implantation is in BM/BMIIDX, GF/DM, and Popn Music

I can come up with a few more easily in the BM/BMIIDX/GFDM/Popn category but since that's shady (BM~=BMIIDX) I'm going to try to think of one that's in four other ones without it having to be in DDR Megamix...

edit: god dammit this is hard.  I don't know the songs on the "fourth" game too well!  Sad
