Hey, anyone know what could be wrong with this?

I have Swap Magic installed on my PS2 slim and I can use the DVD Rom disk fine without problems. However, whenever I put in y CD Rom disk, the PS2 always gives me a "please insert a PS2 formatted disk" error. Anybody know why this is happening? I just got two import Taiko no Tatsujin games and I'm dying to play them, but unfortunately they have the blue-bottoms (which means I need to use the CD driver disk to play them.

Please Help Me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope!

Sounds like it's a bad copy of the disc. I have the same set and I've never seen that error.

Your best bet is to just pick up new Swap Magic disks. They're really sensitive to scratches, and are kind of finicky on PS2s anyway. If you really are interested, there are ways of burning CD-based games onto DVDs and running them with the DVD Driver disk. I'm not sure about it myself, but check out MegaGames or maybe GameCopyWorld for more info.

D you think the same thing will happen, if you use the DVD disk to player CD games?

I didn't know they still made CD-based PS2 games.

The DVD loader will only load DVDs, and the CD for CDs.
