What the heck is a pizza buffet place doing with half the games that Acme Bowl has?!

So you're telling me there's an X-2 cab less than 10 miles from my house, but it's not really playable or economically feasible to play either?

Yeah it's not so bad if you just go when you're hungry I guess. It's just like the Mr. Gatti's places I used to go to when I lived in Texas, but that only cost like $6. Hell the pizza tastes the same as Gatti's..........

It's a fairly big place, it took over the location that the Beaverton Circuit City used to be at.

I suppose I may go and play a little if I'm also hungry, just to actually get to try an X2 machine.  I wont be going here for serious play though; after a few hours of play a shower is the first thing on my mind not food and eating buffet amounts of pizza before playing doesn't seem like a good idea either.

I went to go to this place same day as BBH, found out that I had to buy the buffet just to get in, turned around, and went to Big Al's.

I want to play DDR X2, but it being an X1 upgrade cab, being quiet, and being right next to bumper cars makes it not worth it in my book.

I'm bummed that they charge you to get in 

damn, that cover charge really stinks :/
are there any other X2 machines in Portland?

Location Update: I just visited that place today. The machine is now at unlock level MAX and only 75 cents (3 credits) for 3 songs, but still no HD lag fix and the volume is still too low. I wish there is a better X2 in Oregon.  

And yes, the trial play is where a second player can play the first stage for free (but cannot set options).

I believe Lloyd Center has one.

yeah i got food poisoning here and the volume is still WAY too low. pads are perfect though

Having worked at John's in California, most attendants with keys to the games are usually willing to go into the games and turn the volume up and down. If you're in the arcade, look for an employee with either a red hat, or a black button up shirt (usually no hat). Guys in black polos that creep around the arcade are techs, and are skilled mechanical and electrical dudes, but don't much care for interacting with guests. However if there is something wrong with the game you should try to point it out to them. If it's not fixed within a week (they do weekly testing) keep nagging and it will eventually be fixed.

Also, if you're close to the location, I would highly recommend getting a loyalty card ($5), because they give you a free $5 game card and you get discounts on the buffet to get in, and better prices on game cards. Plus, the game cards never expire. and if you find cards lying around definitely pick them up and see what they have on them. John's doesn't have too many games worth 1 credit, and you can have them consolidated at the register.

Update: p1 side right arrow is useless. Hard to pass any songs beyond difficulty 7/8. P2 side is great but the up arrow sometimes triggers more than once so songs with 16th runs including an up arrow can be hard to fc. Johns currently has a 4 time pass with food and $20 worth of game cards for $30 so that's cool (too bad its just for summer).
