Just a side note, on Wednesdays all games are half off.

it costs something like 5.8 or 5.9 points for 3 songs? The real-world money amount for that depends on how much you put on your card, of course. $20 gets you 100 points, so that would cost more than $1 per game. But I think $29 gets you 175 points or something like that which makes things more reasonable?
I'll probably be there this Wednesday.

I went here just yesterday and the arcade attendants were really excited to see such "pro players". They were also very helpful in terms of increasing the machine's volume. I plan to go here a lot, especially on Wednesdays. I just wish I could get their wifi working with my phone.
I'm actually glad that Big Al's has some competition now, maybe it will make them "up their game".

Hopefully your D&B actually maintains their machine, or lets other people maintain it. I know the ones around here usually let them fall into disarray unless something goes terribly wrong (ie: broken panel that might result in an injury).

I tried three different USB drives on that machine and it refused to recognize a single one of them. Sadness.
Also jesus christ I forget how much I hate Pump's interface. Having to put in a code just to access "full" mode which never works the first time, and having a screen full of modifiers that consist of nothing but abbreviations that don't explain what the hell the modifiers are. All I wanted to do was figure out whether the game had a "Rhythm" noteskin like Pump Pro but I'm guessing it doesn't.

If your USB drives worked you wouldn't need a code!

K-Pump has never had a rhythm noteskin. :/

Pump always felt like a crummy game to me. I mean it began life as a DDR ripoff after all... XD *runs away*

Ask the operator of the machine to enable USB ports. Here's a how-to vid:
USB box installation: USB port set up
Hope that solves the problem!

That's a shame, I was hoping this would be "borrowed" from Pro just like it was borrowing songs that first appeared on it.

The USB slots were functional as somebody else was there using a card that was recognized. It just refused all of mine.

Make sure your card is formatted as FAT32 :p

What I did was go over to Radio Shack, bought the smallest and cheapest Cruzer flash drive they had, formatted it as FAT32, then brought it to the PIU machine on my next visit, plugged it in, and it assigned me a randomly numbered username and started working right away. So far, this works great for recording scores and for not having to enter the Full Mode code every time.
Wish there were more people playing over there, though. I took MAX out there three Wednesdays in a row (had to skip this week because work) and only saw a total of five other players, only one of which knew the game well. Still, it's got the big advantage of being immediately adjacent to a MAX station, while both Big Al's are far out of the way for someone reliant on Tri-Met.

I've got two D&B power cards, one with 24.4 and 52.8 chips on them.
Whoever can update Z-i-V's database first with the pricing and condition of this machine (and any other rhythm games at this location) gets both of them via mail.
Winner will have to PM me their address to send them to, which will only be used for sending you these cards. (unless there's a way to transfer balances via the codes on the cards, then I'm up for that but you'll have to give me the details if that's possible).
EDIT, we have a WINNER: Tresjin

Just to clarify, the high price listed was calculated by the cheapest card they offer with the worst chips-per-dollar rate, and the low one is if you pay $100 per recharge for maximum chip efficiency. For most people, it'll work out to be somewhere in the middle, with an additional 50% off if you go on Wednesday.

Great! That's similar to how Gameworks' location prices are listed.

Was just in there tonight, checked button boards on both sides, they seemed to work just fine. Left, Select, Right, and a Back button on top. Then again, I almost never use them, as back when I started playing Pump they didn't have any buttons there yet and all selections/mods were done on the pad only.

It's been a few months and not many play out there, but apparently something changed over the weekend and someone upgraded the machine to Patch 1.60. I was hoping for a Pump It Up Prime upgrade, but this still adds a few new songs and stepcharts which are fun. Unfortunately, a few of them seem to be level 00 songs with no steps, and it also wiped all existing Machine High scores off the cabinet (USB personal scores unaffected).

Tresjin some work was done to the Infinity cab at Big Al's Vancouver. I hear it's much better now and the SN2 is in good shape as well. Maybe give that place a go? Sadly the regular scene has all died out, most of us own cabs and play in our garages now.

Tresjin, that was actually me who upgraded the Fiesta 2 cabinet to 1.5.1 and then 1.60. I had to do a fair bit of "social engineering" to get the patches on the machine, since the techs were reluctant to change anything whatsoever about the default configuration.
The 1.60 patch unlocks a lot of charts, and a few new songs, unfortunately one of the side effects (I've since learned) is that it wipes out all pre-existing local machine scores. I also did work on the Infinity cab's pads at Big Al's, Vancouver over the weekend and the pads are a 9/10 in my opinion. I actually do play at Dave 'n Busters....maybe once a week? I typically try to go early Friday or early Wednesday before the place fills up and gets incredibly loud.

Yeah, I wish I had a garage. Or a car. Big Al's is cool and all, but it's an hour and a half each way from here to either location, compared to a reliable half-hour on the Green Line train to Clackamas.

I've also been going to D&B roughly once a week, though I've been aiming more for the busier weekend evening times when there are more random bystanders watching. I'd prefer to get in on half-price Wednesdays, but work schedule's been keeping me busy every Wednesday for months.
