The Clackamas location isn't getting it unless something has changed.

Went on Saturday, saw someone there playing 15's and they told me that only P1 USB works?  I should probably get a USB drive set up for this eventually, meh

Correct, the p2 usb won't read. So just have to use one side and then just go one at a time if versus players are both using usb. Looks like machine has finally been updated past 1.17, but unfortunately the pads are dying. Especially p2 upper arrows.

I was playing on P2 side and I didn't have any issues but I can only play up to like 12's and 13's so maybe they're shittier at faster play.

If it's anything like most cabinets, if 2 players playing, then the game reads from 1P USB first, and usually times out reading the 2P USB. If you're playing solo, it is possible that either 1P or 2P USB slot would work.

Anyone been here recently and know if the cabinet was updated to Prime 2?

Last time I was there was about a week ago and it still hasn't been updated yet.

Went a few times in the past couple of weeks and the pads are fine.  The annoying thing is that the game itself freezes.

Came back for the first time in a while since moving even further west. P1 DR is literally snapped in two. Oh well.

It's fixed now.

A bit of a more personal update regarding DnB: I recently got hired as a Support Technician for this location, so hopefully, I can contribute to fixing the Pump machine (and all the other games) ASAP. Currently, the monitor's gone right now and I don't know when it will be replaced yet.

Any news about a Prime 2 upgrade?  I remember the monitor was half-gone and one of the center panels was cracked in two.

I'm still in training, so I haven't heard anything from higher up yet, but I'll see if an upgrade is possible if it hasn't been talked about already. I imagine fixing the monitor and the panels will take higher priority, though.

Ah, alright.  Good luck to you, hope you enjoy the job.  Can't be worse than what some of the food-service people there have to deal with, I'd imagine.

Tell them they need Ace, even though they have said they won't get it, tell them anyway.

From what I gather so far from the people I work with, there isn't much of a profit incentive to upgrade the PIU machines any further (for any DnB location) since it doesn't make as much money as other games. While I don't know if the managers and execs agree, it seems we'll be stuck with what we have for now apart from regular maintenance and upkeep.

Speaking of maintenance, a replacement monitor has been ordered and should arrive in a couple days, I believe.

I don't blame them - the only people that play it are hardcore or casual players.  Casual players won't recognize that it's a newer version and hardcore crowd might not make the extra $3-4k on the upgrade worth it considering how small the community is in Portland.

Scratch what I said about the monitor coming this week; there is no ETA on the monitor at the moment. However, there is talks about updating the machine to the latest patch before Prime 2 (v1.21.0, I think) once the monitor does arrive, so I hope that happens as well.

My only other hope is DnB catches on to StepManiaX.
The new arcade cabinets look perfect for any arcade.
They have a 42in touch display so it fits in well with the current arcade scene.
It has industrial strength bars and panels that auto correct stuck sensors. Perfect for drunk knuckle heads stomping and leaning on the pads.
It's smaller than any dance cab to date and has super nice rainbow LED's to catch people's attention.
Most importantly it's extremely affordable compared to any dance arcade on the market and it doesn't require online connectivity to play.

maybe in a year or two when they catch on they will show up.

ledgam3r1279:  Reach out to me if you get a chance.
(just sent you a friend request on fb)  We will have some SMX test arcade cabinets soon and if you can put me in contact with your local management I'll also reach out to Kevin Bachus.  I've talked with a few people at Happy Valley in the past, but they will likely be very interested in the new enclosure  (especially in regards to earnings and durability)

OMG, KaW is on our forum. Squueeeeee!

Seriously though, I'd love to get a public machine up in the Seattle area to try out. I'd like to see what SMX is offering first-hand.
