Malibu Raceway in Beaverton, OR
It's a go kart track + batting cages + arcade that supposedly has a MAX 2 machine.  I've never actually been in there but I drive past it often enough

Though if they actually have a good MAX 2 machine...

Apparently they changed the pricing so it's $6 to get in for the day, then everything's free play.  I'll check this out and confirm ASAP and make a topic for it too, since it doesn't seem to have one at this point.

Ugh, how lame. I've never felt like spending $6 ever in one trip there, and they never get anything new (literally the only new game they've gotten since I moved here is DAT MADDEN Arcade). Overall they do have a better arcade than Sunset obviously, since Sunset is primarily ticket game shit. If they HAVE fixed the pads (not holding my breath on this one) I'll certainly stop by sometime for some good ol MAX2.

And yeah, this should probably go in a separate topic  ;x

Would suck to go, pay $6 and find out that the pads are shite, though

If they work, I'd also love to play some Trance de Janeiro... er.. MAX 2

You could always play House of the Dead or Time Crisis, though!

So I really need to check this place out still.  Surely the pads can't be much worse than Tilt or GK's have been the last 10 times I've been to either.  I don't really care about FC any more as long as I have good PA or GA, whichever I'm going for, so as long as I can pass on this machine it should be worth my time and money.

Machine works alright and is HELLA cheap (20 cents per credit if you buy tokens 100/$20).  There are 6 or 7 dead sensors in each pad.  1p up and right and 2p right are the only places where I've experienced any significant amounts of pad-misses though.  There are at least two working sensors in each panel so you just have to step in the right spot.  If you're really precise you won't even drop holds, but if you're careless you'll be missing every 10-20 steps.

I'm rating this location a two because they don't do maintenance and they won't let me do maintenance.  I'm going to try teaching some of the staff there how to maintain the machine.  If not that my plan is to wait until the machine breaks and then I'll just try buying it from them.

I've been going every Tuesday with friends.  Feel free to join us if you're interested in playing on a machine that's cheap as hell and not as bad as Ground Kontrol but not quite on par with Tilt!

Carlos Santana?  I didn't even realize he hadn't been going to Rock Band lately.  I know Dustin's stopped MCing so he could change his work schedule but I figured Carlos was still going every week or close to it.

I haven't been here in a couple weeks because I went and got a girlfriend and haven't really had the time or money to play DDR lately. Tongue

Went back there a couple weeks back, L side is bullshit and not worth money but R side is good, even for Oni. Probably gonna go back if I ever need to play this game again.

Was there a couple days ago.  L side is still kind of bogus.  R side is usually good but occasionally Left arrow will crap out.  Entire machine sucks for holds; I have to roll them.  Anyone over 160 lbs shouldn't have to though.

I managed to FC Waka Laka on the left side and Fantasy on the right, so the machine's decent.  Onis are doable but the charts are so dumb it's not really worth it.

EDIT: Paranoia bros. doubles not really doable.  The jumping jacks on paranoia are pretty much impossible on those pads.

Anyone know if this machine is still around? It's not in Z-i-V's database.

Apparently they closed down the Beaverton location and moved to Mount Hood. No idea if the MAX2 machine went with them.
