So, despite a landslide win by Madagascar, we're looking at Ground Kontrol on the 29th.

For those interested in dining, we're going to have pizza.  If you disapprove of pizza, let us know.

Location candidates:
-Tilt! (-)
-Ground Kontrol (YY?)
-Bi Gals (?)
-Avalon (?)
-Madagascar (the country) (582Y, 54N, 20.59?)

Time candidates:
April 22nd (SUN) (?)
April 28th (SAT) (Y?)
April 29th (SUN) (Y)
some time in May (SUNS, SATS)

My vote:
GK on Apr 28.

See below regarding the 21st and why it's a no-go.

NEW!
If you need something to ease the stress and help your decision go along, I've included a picture of my banana and grapes on a table, which you can download and enjoy any time.

I don't eat pizza (never liked it) but it's certainly alright if the rest of you want to enjoy some. Smiley

Well, maybe we can get some pizza and a bunch of sandwiches or something?  We don't want to be leaving anyone out here. =)

Here's an idea: if we go to "The Wedge" (the only reason I know it's called that is because my dad owns a business there) about four blocks away, there's Rocco's Pizza which is rad, and Noah and anyone else that wants to can grab some sandwiches at Half & Half three doors down. Ok?

That's a good idea! Smiley

I can't stand cheese in general. When I was four, I remember having cheddar cheese and can't describe how repulsive the taste was to me, and so didn't eat any until I was fifteen, when I thought perhaps it was just one unfortunate experience and decided to try a tiny piece, but got the same reaction, and thus just don't eat cheese, ever. (giggles)

I'm kind of eccentric in how I eat. Because the rest of my family are carnivores, and I'm a vegetarian, on a monthly basis, I got to the farmers market at Portland State University or Wild Oats, and I buy a whole lot of vegetables and mushrooms, where I always make an effort to try something different by buying a "wild-card vegetable" (this month it is tomatillos) and also get some sauces and marinades (I love mango jalapeno).

With what I get, I like on a weekly basis cooking a pot full of quinoa or coral rice, and then I use the vegetables to make stor-fries, tossing even vegetables unconventional to stir-fries like brussels sprouts, habanero peppers and red beets into the mix. Then I like adding any sort of sauce, like that mango jalapeno one or a curry paste, into the stir-fries and serve it over a bed of quinoa along with some Tofurky vegetarian italian sausage, and because I cook a whole lot of quinoa or rice, I fill quinoa into as many bowls as possible for leftovers each day.

Eastern and Middle Eastern foods have long been my favorite kind of food because of the diversity in spices and flavors, and ways in which they prepare their wide array of vegetables and such. I suppose I just don't really fit in with the pizza, hamburger and lasagna culture here!

Noah Eaton

Actually, I've got a pretty similar taste system, except that I totally dig da cheese.

Otherwise, yeah, random veggies in a stir-fry with some random Tibetan sauce = win.

Looking forward to the next get-together, yay! Smiley

What particular time do we intend to meet at the Ground Kontrol around?

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

I'm thinking noonish sounds good.
That way, we don't have to get up real early, those of us who go to church in the morning (if any of us) should have time for that, and we'll still be able to pass our pizza/sandwich eating as lunch after a couple hours at GK.
