I played on Saturday. It's not THAT bad, but it does throw me off a bit

Hey all, I would love to hear opinions on the new air hockey table at Acme.  the manufacturer claims this is the greatest new model they have ever built, with improved air flow and game play to justify it's huge price tag.  I know we have some good air hockey players here, and I would love to get the real scoop on the quality of this new table.

I was playing some SN2 on Saturday with all the new re-locations to the machines and I can say that putting the sn2 machine next to the basket ball machine could be a bad thing since I was hit by a basket ball. I'm not the only one that was hit by a basket ball. I didn't trip or anything or get seriously hurt, but I'd like to play in peace knowing that I'm not going to be hit by random balls every time I go.

As someone who's played the basketball games (I love them) Tongue  I have definitely had a few go outside of the game, and thankfully nobody was next to me to hit... but I do see the issues here.

@Laura - Airhockey battle sometime soon?

It seems great, and I love the actual guards on the side so I don't get pelted with air hockey pucks, and the gameplay is solid, however I would do away with the sound effects if you can turn them off... When playing, every time someone hits the puck it gives a cheesy "pew pew!" sound that gets fairly annoying. Also it often plays that baseball theme, (the "dun da da da dun da da da, dananana nana!, charge!" song, if you get what I'm saying... Haunts me in my sleep now...), which is also quite annoying when I've heard it a hundred times over a two hour period. Anyway so A+ for the new airhockey table if the sound gets turned off Smiley Hope this helps a bit.

Hey Allan, BTW, thanks for the call last week.  I assume that right player left arrow is okay now?
I will check out the air hockey volume.  I bet we can turn it down a bit.  :-)

I played some ITG yesterday night (saw a few d00ds with cards leave right when I jumped on) and it's amazing.  We don't have this in Spokane. Sad

My wallet was stolen there unfortunately.  This is a far cry from working, but if you guys can keep out for a black leather wallet (Fossil brand) with the ID Jakob Rosman in it, that would be great.  That big security guy was pretty helpful.

Good noose:  My EWU/College ID was returned to me.  All the way from Tukwila to Spokane/Cheney! Cheesy

Nothing big, but I just thought I'd let ya'll know there are good people out there.

Awesome, glad to hear the world doesn't suck as much as I usually assume it does.

FYI:  The bars for ITG 2 are in our shop for welding repairs.  Yes, the wobble will soon be gone!

Update, trick bars reinstalled.  Let the bar hugging resume, haha.

Man, I would have paid to see people's reactions to an ITG cabinet without bars, lol.

I personally didn't mind the bar-less challenge.

Even more amusing was seeing NSX do a 11, 12, and 12 footer for his first set no-bar and consistently edging on 1-star ^^

You should do this again on April Fool's Day.

It's definitely nice to know this world is better than most assume. A couple months ago I left my wallet (Louis brand: 300 dollars) and 100 dollars cash among some gift cards and other goodies in the boy's bathroom, and it was all completely returned, not a thing missing.

Just returned to ACME these past few days and am going in today so i can be taking cracks at Sail Away again. I was away for about 6-7 months while adjusting to a commute from Federal Way to Seattle going to Seattle University. Hope to see any of you at ACME soon.

It sucked for me because the security cameras just happened to not work that day.

I then got drunk with my brother and some Polish people we met at a motel and a few months later filing my claim, the bank reimbursed my $50 stolen from my debit.

Well, looks like I'll be going back to Acme again. In fact I'm not going to any other arcades now, just Acme. It's good to be back. Cheesy

Good to have ya back! Are you going to get back into any dance games or just a little bit of everything?

On the subject of you returning, is there any chance of putting Mad Matt's newly released Final Fantasy Tactics theme on the ITG machine? It looks pretty promising Grin
ITG Tactics Theme released!

I love the tactics theme, but we need the theme switcher before we do that.

This will put any person other than regulars into a state of "WTF?!" when they try to play.

Theme switcher...trying to figure out how to get it to work but once I do I'll be sure to add it. I'm going to Acme at least once every week now so I don't think I'll have trouble finding time to do it. Long live Masterman Vending! Long live Acme Bowl!

Tuan: Yeah, getting back into dancing games again and also probably continuing to play Drummania. PG was much more convenient for me to get to than Acme, but I'm glad to be able to support Bill again. Cheesy I might also get back into Maximum Tune, but that game takes a lot of time!

Yeah, I've been struggling with this myself. The theme switcher part is easy, but my problem is; If I have the ITG3 theme load with startup, than any theme I switch to after that has crashes and problems. Conversely, if I startup with the standard ITG2 theme, then I can switch to any other theme and it works just fine.

Haven't been to acme in forever but plan to sometime this week(hopefully). How is the precious ITG2(or 3) machine?

Actually, I went there earlier tonight and noticed a much less sensitive Left Arrow on the Player1 side of the InTheGroove3 machine compared to every other arrow. Player2 side's great as usual, especially with the new less-wobbly bar.
